At last.....clarity and honesty combicombined...a friend of mine put me off the salt water hobby when he bought all the mega expensive Gubbins....and an osmosis thingmy....he does have the best light tho, because of the coral he keeps. He's got a sump ....his aquarium looks beautiful....but I think I'll stick to my freshwater for the time being....thanQ, and of course I've subscribed. 👍

Great video. I also worked in aquatics for years and indeed I have lost track of the number of people who had no idea what the difference was between freshwater and saltwater fish. You can have all the money in the world for fish/sea creatures… but I assure you that will get you nowhere in this hobby without at least knowledge of the nitrogen cycle and the ocean ecosystem as a whole. Super important to educate newcomers to keep this hobby alive.

Great video for those who are a bit hesitant to build their first clownfish tank. I've been an avid follower of this channel and my first nano reef tank has been a success and has been running for a year now, complete with clownfish, macro algae and many more organisms.

I appreciate this video! Some of these people on yours will scare you aware from the hobby because they make things more complicated than they should be! They say you MUST have $1000 dollars worth of extra equipment lol

Good video thanks, I've kept freshwater fish for years and am going to be settling up my first saltwater aquarium in the next few weeks, and I'm going to be using a Fluval 407 for filtration. Should be an interesting series keep up the good work 👏

Great video. I think everyone gets stuck with the thought, if I don't have xyz I am not doing it right. I always recommend using the equipment you already have. (If you're coming from fresh water, you have most of the equipment you need. Maybe upgrade the light if your keeping corals.) But people forget, you do not have to have everything all at once. The price for this hobby really is getting out of control, with everyone and their huge list of required equipment. It really is starting to price people out of the hobby. A glass box should not cost hundreds of dollars, for a standard size tank, but people keep paying so the major companies keep on charging a fortune for such things.

I'll make sure to have something covering the tank as I bought a 33 gallon tank (around 130 liters approximatively). And my light is blue as I'll probably put easy corals in a year after it's set up. I have a fluval 206 so I'll get a wave maker. And I also plan mixing it myself because of the volume I have. But the RO/DI system is what will be the most expensive so I might start with tap water. I'll need live rocks, crushed corals, water test and food (other than frozen brine shrimps). I also need 2 buckets for water changes and another python for that.

Since you suggested we watch other videos those other videos would never tell you that a clown fish should only go on a 90 gallon tank. That's crazy big for a clownfish. 20 gallon and you can still add 2.
