Oh wow I just LOVE hearing the Gibbons sing!!! I believe it's the most pure music I've ever heard. Could you imagine getting to listen to it everyday??? That would be amazing. Thank you ALL for the hard work and effort that you do to make sure the music doesn't stop.

Their Gibbon song is hauntingly beautiful to human ears. But I think it is a different story if you are another Gibbon. Like so much of the birdsong we enjoy, it is very territorial and even threatening in intent. If you saw an earlier Dao Tien episode, a female Gibbon came and fatally attacked one of the ones awaiting release. They are deadly serious about territory.

Does anyone know if there is any significance with the dragonfly? Alison has dragonfly earrings and I have just noticed that Marina has a dragonfly necklace.

In some cultures it symbolizes transformation,which makes sense given how they develop. Seems appropriate to the work being done in Vietnam.

Poor Zuli (?sp). He must have been teased and harassed…I’d be hostile and angry and assume had to protect myself from the nasty humans. Amazing you’ve been able to rehabilitate him. If he’s like me was probably cranky about the diet as well!

Why does it seem like the majority of people who care to and fund the set up of animal conservation areas in African and Asian countries are white Europeans or Americans? Don’t these countries care enough about their wildlife that they do it on their own?
@judithgrimes174Ай бұрын
They do. Just because they dont all have tv shows or social media videos doesn't mean they dont exist. And conservation should be about the animals not about the race of those who help them.
@TiffStoleMyHubCapsАй бұрын
@judithgrimes174 can you point me towards 5 African or Asian conservation organizations that don't take European/American money?
@sharonkaczorowski8690Ай бұрын
@@TiffStoleMyHubCapsWhy don’t you do your own research? You will find plenty of examples where programs were created and run entirely locally. You will also find that any large operation requires a huge influx of funds. I’m glad that rich countries help countries with less wealth to save species. Although what those wealthy countries contribute is a tiny percent of their GNP and a drop in the bucket what we need do to stop the decay of our planet and repair where possible. In this case the government of Vietnam has made a real commitment to restoring ecological balance, while still recovering from the severe damage caused by war, meeting their commitment to the welfare of their own people, rebuilding and expanding infrastructure, education, etc. I’m delighted to see there are people who care to help and recognize we all need to pull together. Monkey World is the standard for rehabilitating and releasing primates. Bringing them in makes complete sense.
