If I were in your place, I would invite him to stay but I would have him build his own sleeping house in your land ( for close observstion) If he returns to his old habit you can always repurpose his sleeping hut for other usage but I would share with him your kitchen and your meals with him This way he is close to your daughter, who seems to want to be close to him and you can keep a close watch of his behavior. It's a win-win accommodation, in my view. God bless I forgot to add; AS LONG AS HE WILL SHARE YOUR EXPENSES.
