I tried breeding Bettas 4 years ago and I might've watched some of your betta breeding vidoes back then. I got a solid batch but only 6 survived to adulthood. I conditioned them in ice cream tubs with a LOT of tannins, I used Indian Almond and it worked perfectly. Lost all of my fish from a flood and I lost interest but I set up a 10 gallon recently and bought a female betta. Love your stuff man, love seeing your business and your hobby grow.

Royal whiptail breeding- mine spawn every 3-4 weeks with 50~140 eggs. They are in neutral water, 25C, but with lots of oxygen from airstones and some flow. I also feed the parents heavily with frozen food and spirulina tabs. I leave the tank as a bit of an algae covered mess for the fry, and also feed the fry spirulina powder twice a day. Seems to work well but they grow very slowly

Thank you for another great video full of great tricks :) Maybe i can give you something in return... here is my trick on gold fish breeding on aquarium: I had some goldfish breeding on my little fish room a couple of times, just for fun! But... Mine never used those mops! On those couple of times i got successful i moved 1 female and 2 males to a big IKEA container (50/60 liters) with original aquarium water, and a piece of "egg crate" covering all the bottom of that container and few pebbles to keep it 1 or 2 centimeters above bottom. Those 3 adults have been there for 2 days and get them back to their original aquarium after. They left all the bottom of the container and the interior of the "egg crate" covered in eggs :) Removed that "egg crate" only after the eggs hatched. The only problem will be on what to do with all those little guys :) If you cant get a spawning on that mop, you can try that way! Maybe my gold fishes were too lazy to stick them on mop, and find it easier to scatter them all over the bottom :) Cesar

Could you put some Amano shrimp with the catfish and remove the cherrys to help with the breeding.? That would control the breeding problem to keep the shrimp in control and still do the cleanup work maybe.

It's been decades since I last kept fish, but I do remember looking into breeding Harlequin Rasboras and reading they have more success in breeding with young males and older females (or was it the other way around?). And the article recommended adding a group of well fed young fish to a group of older ones to initiate breeding. Not sure if this is something that is well known, but maybe it might useful to try.

@@nehireotarulkka8092 My planted tanks is set at 24°it is scaped with an aqua soil base covered with a dark fine sand. Hard scape is Seriyu stone and some drift wood. As for plants I have used anubias coffeefolia, Java moss, anubias paco, cryptocoryne Wendtii, Echinodorus Bolivianus and Micanthemum Monte Carlo. Tank mates are cherry shrimp and bladder snails and recently corydoras. Even with the snails still averaging 10 fry a spawn to free swimming. Water parameters PH 7.6 GH 150 KH 120, Alkalinity 120, water changes about 30- 40%. Have also noticed they do enjoy tannins in the water. Have found that once they were settled the seem to spawn about every 4 weeks and I don't fuss over them. The started about 4 weeks after they were added lighting schedule of 12 hours on. Hope this helps anything else happy to share what I have learn. Happy Otocinclus breeding
