you can filter cloramine out with an ROdi system, should cost about 90 dollars, then you can fit water storage tanks on the top level re-mineralise and fill from those.

Hi there, regarding the covers of your ponds, u can try taking mosquito netting and using PVC pipe as well as some zip ties to create a very fine mesh cover that will be suitable for keeping out dragonfly larvae as well as other critters or bugs that may want to predate on your fish. Pro tip: fill the PVC pipes with sand or water to weigh them down naturally

Ideal would be to have Green Cuisine and Bug Buffet both available as Sticks/Sinkers for bottom feeders, Flakes/Floaters for top feeders, Crumble for general/mixed use, and Tiny Fry Powder for the tiniest day-old fry fish (eg: Honey Blue Eye fry and others that are hard to feed for being so small). But it would depend on financial viability to change anything of course, just because randoms on the internet says do it, we'll buy it, doesn't mean it's a good idea nor we'll all buy enough to make it viable to produce.

On the bug buffet…. I recently purchased a 450g bag and eagerly awaited its arrival. When I received it I opened it up and found half of it was already powder. Previous videos I had seen it in a pellet form much like the green cuisine in this video. Had I known it wouldn’t arrive like I had seen I wouldn’t have ordered. Maybe if you can make a powder form green cuisine you can make a pellet form bug buffet? Hope this helps.

5 stage+ rodi system with a remineralization block at the end would filter chloramines. ideally atleast x2 1 micron carbon fiber blocks (when first is spent you move 2 into slot 1 and add new to slot 2). This is what I do for my reef tank (i dont need to remineralize because i mix saltwater, but for freshwater there are remineralization blocks so you'd likely want 7 stage RODI (from Bulk Reef Supply, amazon, etc), then a final in line mineral block at the end. 7 stage is the standard, my 5 stage works for chloramines but i have to change my filters more frequently than a rodi system with more stages. Im sure you know, but if you had an uncycled tank, like a hospital tank or a fresh hatch tank; you dechlorinate the water, and it binds the toxic ammonia (like chloramine) for 48 hours. then it releases where it would become toxic, so for an uncycled tank you would need to be dosing Prime or similar every 48 hours until bacteria cycle can process within 48 hours. Ammonia alert badges by seachem are helpfuil here as they visually only read toxic (unbound) ammonia. very helpful if you encounter issues in fry or hospital tanks after 48 hours of dechlorinating. (Ive raised baby clownfish this way in uncycled hatch tanks). (This is basically a preventative measure, but the fry are extremely sensitive so i do it INCASE any chloramine get through my rodi, then the ammonia alert badge also continues to perform thoughout hatching, feeding through metamorphosis, fry die off, or eggs unhatched spoiling, and so on. Having a visual representation with seachem ammonia alert has been so vital for my successful rearing with chloramines exposure locally, rodi filter, waste management, etc.

I'd be very interested in a powder form of the Green Cuisine! I've actually been sticking the pellets into the holes in my spray bar so that when the pellets eventually break down they dissipate evenly throughout the tank for my Borneo Loaches. They don't really go for the full pellets at all, but they love the little crumbs...

Chloramines will give you a problem if you don't keep on top of them. I am in Canada and last spring the amount of Chloramines in the water increased to the point I had to use 3 times the amount of conditioner to conquer the Ammonia that comes with Chloramines. Ammonia was still at lethal levels with a single dose and close to lethal at a double dose (so certainly a problem for sensitive fish). I called up the water treatment place to hear a scripted response that the "water is safe for human consumption". I suspect the Australian Government is no different than the Canadian Government in their ability to conduct studies that get a desired result. Anyways, as a breeder I recommend you pay attention and test ammonia in the water as it comes out of the tap. I don't want to see a video in the spring of high losses.
