Billi Bahdi said The MJF thing was a work. Also, Tony needs to strip The Elite of their EVP roles because they didn't fight Punk as wrestlers, they are basically his supervisors. The Elite instigated the fight by walking into his locker room. Firing Punk would be the worst idea, he has grounds for a lawsuit. They agitated Punks injury in that "fraccus". The Bucks and Omega should've went to Kahn and have him handle the situation.

I'm gonna have to say the disrespect towards the older generation is a new generation thing. I'm a machinist by trade and when I got into it in the 2000's there were still a bunch of old school guys that were making bad ass parts by hand before computer machines were around. I learned very early not to disrespect those guys becuase they have forgotten more than I even know now almost 20 years later. Now we've got a bunch of kids that call in 2 days a week and think their bad asses becuase they can load a part and press a button. They have the Hangman attitude of "I don't need to take advice from the older guys." And now if you try to humble them they go to hr and you get fired. It's insane.

Eric Bishoffs influence on Smackdown when he took over was fantastic. His first day he had Kevin Owen's brawling in the parking lot because Shane wouldn't let him in. He did the Roman Reigns forklift incident. It left cliffhangers that kept us wanting to see what happened next. And then Vince stepped in and ruined it by having Kevin Owen's crying in the ring about how he needs to feed his family and he was going to sue Shane McMahon. And Vince also ruined the Roman Reigns forklift thing when he had Erik Rowan introduce the spider in the cage. Vince McMahon ruined what Eric Bishoff was doing. Vince brought the show back to the juvenile nonsense when Bishoff was actually making the show better. Then Bishoff gets fired and then the FTR angle with the shaving the backs in the shower segment happened. Vince probably didn't like the fact Bishoff could write a show better than he could. Once Bishoff got fired by Vince. I stopped watching WWE. I am now tuning in again to see if Triple H does anything better.

The main problem AEW faces is that Tony Khan is a mark, therefore he treats wrestling not like a business but rather like a kid treats his playground where he can throw his toys together to play with them and then taking them off when he gets tired of them, thinking they will just sit on the bench and not complain about it. He has no idea how to handle public relations and even worse he has no idea how to talk honestly to people and be an adult about the way his booking affects their character arc. Take Darby Allin for example, the guy was the most over Babyface the company had at one point, then he signed Punk and let him bury Darby and since then the guy has been completely lost in the shuffle with no direction despite having Sting by his side. Similar stuff it's happening to Wardlow who doesn't even appear on TV most weeks despite handling the 2nd most important title in AEW. Tony Khan has no idea how to mantain momentum, he just lives for the temporary pop and leave the guy losing steam by not featuring them in prime position. That's why people like Punk and The Élite knew they could take advantage of him and use the company to their own benefits since the guy is a big name mark that gets overwhelmed by big personalities. AEW needs adults in the room from outside their roster to handle the locker room and the booking duties, otherwise they will crumble under the weakness of their leadership

The rankings and records need to go. It was an interesting concept but they’ve shown they’re pointless. An example is their tag division. FTR has been ranked #1 since April but haven’t had a title match. The Bucks hopped from #3 to win the belts then lost them to a team that was ranked #3. That just shows that the rankings being there is pointless. And if the rankings are pointless then records are pointless.

I remember Konnan and DI doing a review of a RAW show and then finding out later it was a year old episode. That is one of the main issues with WWE. It was incredibly state and repetitive. Things barely change and even the people who make money off of wrestling won't watch it but will criticize fans who have an issue with it. AEW definitely has its issues, but I had no faith in WWE to improve while Vince was there.

Punk is the kind of personality to me who would fit in better if a work environment where a person like Konnan or Regal were in charge. Sure Khan is ultimately the company president, but Punk reports to the "coach" first and then if any further issues, he has a meeting with the "coach" and "GM". Referencing a sports team chain of command here as example. Badass wrestlers should be reporting to a badass firm but fair boss, not some nice guy buddy like Khan. Khan is not protected enough. There lacks a chain of command. Khan should be less available to his employees and the workers should know he is the boss of the bosses that wrestlers report to. Punk should not be reporting to The Young Bucks or Omega has his boss. Those guys are wrestlers and not ready for retirement positions that are deserving for veterans that should be moving into non-active roles as mentors and supervisors for younger and activr roster talent.

Bryan and Vinny going over WCW Nitro many times in the past for recaps and my listens to them showed me how painstakingly committed Bischoff was to format. Most of what you could roast about their shows was what was done, but not how the show was structured. And if there was a structural error, it would take weeks before it would be repeated. The amount it took for Bischoff to make an engaging show even in 1995 when Hogan was annoying WCW fans and anyone following with cartoonist nonsense is scary. It was systematic and every part of the show felt full of depth and well built. WCW's structure ensured if you had an only part of the show that you wanted see, you would be served with it brilliantly and there'd be something to hook you to stick around. AEW even when they had quality shit does not structure it well, so they grab you at one point and lose you in the next one. I spent Bryan and Vinny Nitro recaps trying to just follow Cruiserweight matches and I always found myself waiting for odd stuff like Ric Flair segments or Haku matches. Tony Khan makes watching AEW a painful, excruciating experience because you are fighting a death match with boredom for most of the night. The nerve of some folks to compare themselves with WCW and throw shots at Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo is gobsmacking and truly annoying. AEW is closer to Herb Abrams' 90s UWF in structure than WCW. And that's me being nice.

its also Tony's fault for not putting Punk in check during that scrum. Tony needs to stop being too nice and looking at his employees as friends or viewing them from a fan boy perspective. No one is gonna respect that.

Tony is just too nice and treating everyone like his friends. That's the problem now since there are some wrestlers that will take advantage of that friendship and will treat tk like someone who could they just bully around.

it's gonna be interesting to see what happens because AEW Dynamite pulled one of the strongest tv ratings ever this week and this is without CM Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega or even Adam Cole. So Tony Khan now has actual proof that he doesn't need them for AEW to keep their audience.

I don't disagree with Eric's point about Punk. Though when he said only Hogan & Macho had ever drawn money in the business, it wasn't exactly respectful to a locker room packed with draws. Or mocking Mick Foley winning the belt

CM Punk took advantage of the vulnerability of Tony Khan as TK has too many hats he's wearing in AEW. At this stage in CM Punk's career, he should be doing in ring performances on special occasions (like Sting) and should be help Tony khan on the creative side.
