Great video. It’s interesting to see the rural Japan that visitors from overseas very rarely experience. Thanks for posting.

I like how the train stops at scenic overviews so the passengers can take photos and the conductor reads the history of the sites. I'm surprised they don't stop to smell the roses in some trackside garden.

The best view is the cab view ! In places it a virtual canyon of green , trees all through . Not a soul in sight - difficult to reconcile these scenes with Japan after being exposed to the normal crowded cities ; a welcome change indeed ! That platform was raised on stilts .This is the perfect place to have a resort .

That was such a lovely ride seeing the countryside and the beautiful Japanese houses! I liked the stops to see the views and I was interested to see the roads were by the side of the railway like we have sometimes in England. Thank you for this lovely video. :)

Thank you for sharing your video, I love the natural sounds. We film natural walks through soulful cities mainly in Europe so it's lovely to see others doing similar slow tv, in places we haven't been to (but now feel we have). We really enjoyed absorbing your video and losing ourselves in it. We look forward to seeing more and have subscribed.

Very absorbing. Would like to see each station identified as to where the train starts, stops enroute and where it ends. Would be nice if the camera would look at each side of the train's cab from time to time and especially at the stops to see the station. Thanks again for a nice ride.
@Ynysmydwr5 жыл бұрын
Bob -- here is a list of the stations called at by the train. If you do a search for any of these, adding the word "station" (e.g. "Kasashiho Station") in Google Maps / Google Street View and then click on the photo top left you will get a whole series of views of the station concerned.

Beautiful lighting in bottom tunnel. Almost could not make the grade as incredible 20% - 30% climb. I note that when a car or truck wishes to cross the railway they cannot get off the highway and end up with their back ends sticking out in the traffic. Very dangerous.

Thankyou for the video! Plenty of time to think on such a ride, and what went through my mind was how this part of Japan doesn't seem all that different from America... Except that it feels more lonely there, desolate and rundown, far away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities where loneliness is just concealed by the fact that you have the option of encountering total strangers, if the thought ever crossed your mind to do so! Every time I think of Japan, I think of the Atomic Bomb, and how it was my country that unleashed OUR worst nightmare on another country, but what was more preposterous was the excuse of why it was done, to save millions of lives... We do not have enough fingers to amount to the sorrow that Japan was dealt, not once, but twice. I would have never unleashed such a fury on anyone, and my childhood was filled with atomic nightmares I've never forgotten... At least I woke up from my nightmare! That I am sorry for, what Japan went through, the suffering that lasted long after the war was over, a war that was before my time, even so... A greater threat looms in the air, that threatens to destroy the individuality of every nation brought about by the United Nations efforts of speaking "peace", while preparing for the slaughter of billions. Thanks for the video! I apologize for the depression, but Japan is not exactly what I expected to see... I thought I would see great colorful buildings, with ancient Japanese designs, instead I see a darker version of my own Country. It is said that Japan is taking over the world, but from what I see, none of that money is making it into the pockets of it's own people, they seem worse off than we! Could the rumors be there just to stir up hatred and racism between the 99% of each our respective countries! As for me personally, I love every country, and find beauty in that which I do not see every day... To see a face that looks different, to hear a language that doesn't sound familiar, this is what makes life more bearable, but imagine a World Government, what hell on earth that would be, if we all were alike, and had nothing that makes us unique from each other! Don't accept the Mark of the Beast, nor give into the hand gestures people are doing these days, they have one foot already into the doorway of eternal damnation, when the Mark gets here, how much easier it will be for them to accept it, since they've accepted the signs that came before! Only Jesus Christ can bring World Peace, but everytime we try, results in massive loss of life!
@NOSEhow2LIV6 жыл бұрын
Your rambling, well-meaning and somewhat irrelevent comment suggests that you've not travelled much, or maybe just not observed much. I think renewal of generations is marvellous; children are born innocent and should not be guilty or responsible for their parents mistakes. But neither should anyone rest ignorant of history and catastrophic events leading up to disaster. Read authoritative accounts of Japanese regional policy, starting from 1910, (Korea), continuing thru the 30's, (China), as well as WW2. Making the original aggressor into a "victim" doesn't help a healing process or the evolution of the spirit. Two good friends were camp and Burma Rail survivors; in one case young children were involved.... fortunately in most cases understanding and healing prevailed, in others, bitterness and revenge. Nanking is, sadly, the most notorious of Massacres, but read up on Manila Massacre,(1945), and you may understand better the reasoning behind the Atomic attacks, and the reluctance to invade. Sorry to disappoint you even more, but please don't rely on J. Christ for solutions; mankind is now entering the age where he/she must assume responsibility, (intelligent application of ecology, prosperity....peace..). If we fall back on the old, discredited "Big Daddy"-type religions, it'll just be more of the same...or worse. Best regards.

+NOShow2LIV Those who talk such words tend to exclude themselves and blame others for the worlds problems; Are you then judge, jury and executioner, to decide who amongst the old deserve to die, and whom amonst the young deserves to live?
