I heard them in a shop. Focal was clearer, more details, better in every way. Current Focal chorus and aria series are really good. When it comes to Kef I liked Ls 50 and Ls 50 wireless (bookshelf speakers).

I heard the Focals next to B&W new 700 series and Paradigms Premier and the 726s blew them out of the water. I really doubt these KEF sound better than the focals. I think they may be closer to the R series.

Фокалы однозначно переигрывают кефы. У них звук более теплый, яркий и живой. Струнные вообще бесподобны. Звук прозрачный и детальный. Мужской вокал тоже на высоте. Низов больше чем достаточно. Видимо микрофон басы не передает. Качают они очень прилично. У Кефов звук плоский и холодный. В конце вроде разыгрались, но все равно звук не эмоциональный, бледный, многие нюансы теряются. Хотя конечно, возможно они воспроизводят звук и более нейтрально, как нравится многим аудифилам. Но по мне, так звучание музыки должно нравится и доставлять удовольствие, а не быть эталоном линейности. В общем выбор на любителя. Каждый привыкает к своей аппаратуре.

Focal is more lively and brighter, KEF is more relaxed and warm. For long listening periods I would prefer the KEF's, the Focals would really hurt my ears after 1 hour!

lol The speakers are set at very different positions from the camera. The Focal ones are too close together and they'd probably need a little more distance from the wall to work properly. What I got from this "test" is that those speakers have amazing and smashing bass. I want them already. Also, the mids are kinda dead, so I'd bet the amplifier isn't running it properly. But I don't know shit.

I've owned the FOCAL 726's for 2 years. They are an astounding value. This video does not do them justice, bad placement and too much sound reflection. A rug would help. One of the best speakers I've ever heard. Handmade in France.

Hi mate I also owned focal chorus 726 from last year with marantz pm4001 with qed xt40i cables but I am not getting the right sound from them as I sit 10 feet away frim speakers and and they are 5 feets apart please give some suggestions thanks as I upload some videos on youtube with white ones regards

Do you know the period when these Focal 726 V was manufactured? I have an option to buy nice black 726 V , they are very nice and looks like they are new. But I cannot find the period when there were made. Thanks!

I owned KEF 304 before. I think Q700 inherits its taste, which is good for classical music.

both are good equipment watch the whole video and you will see differences rather than which one is better. the focal is slightly better but not enough to upgrade. also the kef does some instruments better than focal.

I have compared the kef Q500 with chorus 716 before with yamaha receiver,the focal sound warmer and easily to my ears, while the kef sounds very forward for me,maybe each to their own.

Bad comparison. Bad listening environment. speakers not set up in the same position microphones not set up in the same position height or angle. Basically the echo in that environment is terrible it makes the higher-quality sharp sound of the focal sound way overpowering. Where the very out of focus way laid back overly relaxed Kev sound sounds right on with the lack of sound absorption in the environment.

Ok im listening to this remastered song on my focal system in a treated room and it blows each demo way out of the water! treat your room a bit! indicate the lack of this in your video or something in defense of good focal sound this is not right! 🙂 Also the extra sharp strange dark Onkyo sound man... if you were doin this on a denon with x32 calibrating the room a bit, forget about it... У Кеф звук натуральней и правильней и сцена намного глубже. Фокал звучат громче (чувствительность динамиков видимо выше) - середина выпячена и высоких многовато - режут, а сцена совсем плоская. Однознчано КЕФ здесь взрослее

думаю да, средние у фокала "выпячены" и музыканты кажутся "ближе" к слушателю и сцена неплохая. У КЕФ все как-то позади и глуше - оттого они кажутся более "плоскими". Опять же - слушаем запись на ютубе через наушники у кого что - вживую было бы честнее. и расстановка - неодинаковая. В целом, фокал в моих наушниках звучит ярче, а КЕФ, можно сказать, нейтральней. Но, все это детство. Настоящие аудиофилы (У КОТОРЫХ НЕТ ЛИШНИХ 10К БАКСОВ НА КОЛОНКИ) собирают акустику хенд-мейд, которая как правило переигрывает и эти фокалы и эти кефы))

The Focal's tweeter sounds like crap compared to the KEF tweeter. And the focal speaker as a whole sounds like you just turned down the trebble by 10dB... they sound very very muffled. Bad thing about KEF is that they use 1 active woofer and 2 slaves, which means that you're essentially paying for a speaker with 2 elements. And i've been told that use of slaves is a very poor solution because they'll always be out of phase to the main woofer.

Really? I bet you have never heard a set of focals in real life have you? I have a set of old Focal jmlab 714s and they would probably outclass most of today's floorstanders under the £1000 mark. In this video you are not hearing the focals. You are hearing what he's microphone is picking up and then coming out of whatever junk speakers you are listening to. If you think Focal are crap.
