I replaced the original sound from the video i filmed with the direct sound from the song. I keep getting bad audio when i film it and because you can never hear in the recording how the setup sounds in real life anyway 😎

Lovely looking system! The KEFs are a work of art. I've got a white S/510 coming in to replace my T/9X and will be pairing it with Bowers and Wilkins 705 S3s in white as well (replacing Focal Aria 906s). I wish they made them in gloss white like your R3s 😍

Hi Thnx 🙂 The B&W 705 S3 are very nice looking speakers. I bet they match perfectly with the S510 in looks and sound 👍🙂

How does that setup sound mate? What are your components?
@loxxrider27 күн бұрын
@@themarksmanABP I ended up with a pair of 803 D4 and A REL 212/SX. It sounds pretty great, but honestly I think the S/510 would have been a better pairing for the 803 D4 and the 705S3. The 212 is a bit overkill for music. For movies though, it's hard to beat.

@@loxxrider thanks for the reply. How do you find tge performance of acoustic and male vocals on this setup mate?
@loxxrider27 күн бұрын
@@themarksmanABP I like a very detailed sound with slightly recessed midrange. To my ear, that's what sounds most natural. The 803s give me exactly what I'm looking for in that sense. I've got them paired to a Luxman L-509X which adds to the sweet yet detailed top end without taking away anything from the midrange and midbass. I've heard speakers with better midrange (from yg acoustics for example) , but not better enough to make me want to ditch the 800 series.

I just want to say your colour coordination in your room with all the little lava lamps, plus your wall art is really pleasing to the eye. I also want to ask, are you using your sub with this music sample? What is your sub model? And do you recommend the sub with the r3? Thank you.

I've got the R3's + R11's in a surround setup. I've recently played Roger Waters - The Wall on Blu-ray and I've set the receiver at something like -25db and I was really impressed with the sound. However, at times the bass was so insane that I feared it would be damaging to the speakers. During playback I removed the grills and saw all of the bass drivers move sorta like in your video (however, not yet as much as yours do for sure). So I wonder, is this damaging to the speakers over time, or not? I think from about 2.5 meters from the couch to the R11's it sound around 80db. I've tried looking up about overexcursion on woofers, but I can't really determine like at what point the R-series 'overexcurses' or something like that. I'd be interested to know how to identify this. They still sound just as perfect and all woofers are properly set in place, just a bit afraid to damage them unconsiously.
@Im-over-90007 ай бұрын
Hi You can definetly damadge speakers when you play them too loud with very low bass notes. But these KEF speakers can handle this amount of woofer excursion without any problems. But be careful if you let the woofers flex this much for too long it can overheat the voicecoils. I have the R3's almost 2 years now and they play just as nice as always 🤗
@GamingRevenant7 ай бұрын
@@Im-over-9000Hey! Alright, that's good to hear. How long would you consider to be 'too long'? I think I may have played them about an hour total on -25db, but obviously during the concert/movie there were only a handful of moments when the bass really goes up for a little while (like basically the couch is trembling slightly for less than a minute).
@Im-over-90007 ай бұрын
Overheating a voicecoil can only happen when you play music with constant bass notes or when playing test tones 30hrz 20hrz for a minute or so at high high volume. You can't overheat a voicecoil when playing movies , not even when you play Top Gun Maverick very loud
@GamingRevenant7 ай бұрын
@@Im-over-9000That's very interesting. It's a relief to hear I likely am concerned about nothing. I never tried test tones or such videos, let alone at high volumes. I think with The Wall it's the loudest I've gone so far. Most movies I play at around -28db or -30db. Thanks for the fast and informative replies 🙏

Hi , the holes that are already in the top plate of the Dali M-601 stand are for the Dali Rubicon to bolt on to. You can also bolt the KEF R3 on these stands but if you want to do so you have to drill new holes in the Dali stands. A friend of me also has the KEF R3 and these Dali M-601 stands and i did it that way on his system. You need M8 20mm bolts to mount them onto the stands.

My older r300 doesn't have the bass extension, i don't fine them sound articulate at all , it sounds similar compared to r3 , so i sold my used r300 after 2 weeks of ownership , and never look back with kef speakers again .
@Im-over-9000 Жыл бұрын
Hi What speakers did you end up with and do they have better bass extension ? It could be your room modes that are messing up the bass. In my room the R3 play down to 32hrz with a lot of authority. I could easily live with the R3 even without a subwoofer. Before i had the REL S510 i had a stereo pair REL T5i subwoofers. Those subwoofers are very good but paired with the R3 they did not add much bass extension and authority. So i went all out with the S510

Hi there No it’s not that bad 😄 By the way , the KEF R3 weigh 30 pounds each and the stands are filled with sand and bird shot lead pellets and the stands also weigh well over 30 pounds each. They are very very sturdy. Its easier to lift the REL S510 than one stand with the R3 on it 😱

Yes indeed I explained why in the comments How wil you at your home on your sound system with your room acoustics hear how my system sounds in my room when even i can’t replicate the sound in a way that when i have recorded it and play it back on the same system in the same room the way it sounds when listening to it directly because of the way the microphones used to record the sound wil fuck up the sound.
