Kefalonia - Myrtos beach, spectacular or not? useful tips

Myrtos beach kefalonia is one of the most promoted when someone talk about kefalonia island. Here is a short video with tips for your future trip + my opinion.

You will find in this video the road to the beach, the parking area from the entrance to the beach. You will find too the sunbeds area because only a small part of the beach is organised like this, the rest is still wild.
On Myrtos beach you could try paragliding, it is the only beach on Kefalonia island with that kind of activity.

Myrtos is gorgeous! You just need to be really careful with the sea, it can get pretty dangerous if the weather is windy.

@Nemya Blue Yeah but that applies to almost all beaches ...Its like a safety precaution for the swimmers actually..The boats aren't supposed to come to surpass the buoys

Before 2014 and the earthquakes on the island Myrtos was totally different and by far more beautiful. Because of them it sustained a really big crack on its right side and a lot of rock and dirt debris came down from the steep slope. Beware by entering it's waters if it's not totally calm. The ones who are ignorant about the morphology of its bottom can be injured seriously and you should not get far away from the shore when the weather is a bit windy. It really can drift you off to the Adriatic Sea all the way to Libya !!!!

In July 1981we went to Myrtos a few times walking down from the bus stop at the top or driving down the barely passable rocky track. In those days you would only see ten people or so on the whole beach. It seems that this is another place that has become a victim of its own success. We went with Thomson (now TUI) who were only offering one flight a week from the UK.

For those who are going visit Myrtos...after the earthquakes it's not the best idea to visit the cave and chilling out near the rocks..there are warning signs and some don't give a f@ck..this summer a tourist had the idea to go in the cave and he visit and the hospital in the end....Rocks are falling.

Because Myrtos is in a bay when it gets windy then it is extemely dangerous to swim there cause the rip currents!!

I just figure out that lefkada have the more blueish color of sea than kefalonia
