Sandy beach very closeby here (about a mile) is called Maunder beach. Absolutely stunning.

“Old Skala, all uphill, not a lot to see to be honest”? Apart from the ruins of old Skala which was devastated by an earthquake & some of the most beautiful, spectacular views from the higher ground, no I suppose not🙄
