Also to clear up, they are a lesbian. Kehlani was bisexual at one point, then pan sexual, but now they strictly date other women now.

For clarity Kehlani used to ID as bi but now she ID's as a lesbian. Compulsory heterosexuality (that she mentioned briefly but didn't explain) is basically when you don't really like men (or whatever your opposite gender is) but you date them because you think you're "supposed" to. A lot of people ID as bi before realizing/accepting that they're actually gay. (This doesn't mean bisexuality doesn't exist, it does, I'm bi, just that *sometimes* people end up realizing that they are gay not bi). Or you can ID as a lesbian and still have loved a man or two in certain circumstances, but just realized that you're mostly into women. Basically sexuality is a spectrum y'all do whatever you want lol.

I love y’all but words mean things and have definitions…being a lesbian is a woman who is only sexually/romantically attracted to other women. Bisexual is the attraction to two genders. Why we questioning if kehlani a lesbian when they clearly just stated that? 😭

With all due respect- don't say things like, "if the right guy came along, she'd change her mind." Nah. More often than not, queer people tend to force themselves into a heteronormative lifestyle to "fit in" because that's what is expected. Some people- like Kehlani- don't realize their true identity or sexuality until later in life. When you realize you've been forcing yourself into things or relationships just because you think that's what you should do. Then comes the character development of, "oh. I've been suppressing who I truly am this whole time. I should live my truth." Which is what happened with Kehlani. So it's not that she still likes men but just got tired of them. She had to experience those things to realize it's not at all what she wants. She's a lesbian. Not a bisexual. It just took her some time to discover herself. Please do not invalidate people's journeys or identities. I'm saying this respectfully- not tryna come for anyone's neck. As a queer person myself, I'm just trying to educate so there's no confusion.

You really don't understand how damaging this mindset is to yourself and others. It's so much easier to just love yourself and live how you want to, and let others live how they want.
