It's time for the annual Spring Steam Gala at the Railway Children Line. This year, the Great Western has come out in force at this Midland Region heritage railway, with the two guests being GWR Castle Class 4079 "Pendennis Castle" and 6990 "Witherslack Hall", from the Didcot Railway Centre and Great Central Railway respectively.
The usual collection of home fleet locomotives are in play once again, a number actually being based in arguably western region areas such as Bath Green Park (for 41241), Machynlleth (for 78022) and the Taff Vale Railway (for TVR 85). 45212 is not present at this year's gala, as she is undergoing maintenance.
Locomotives featured throughout are:
Ivatt 2MT 41241
Riddles Std2 78022
TVR O2 85
L&Y Ironclad 52044
LNWR Coal Tank 1054
Stanier Jubilee 45596 "Bahamas"
GWR Hall 6990 "Witherslack Hall"
GWR Castle 4079 "Pendennis Castle"
With a bonus feature from resident Class 08 'Gronk' 08993 "Ashburnham".
Videos taken from around the KWVR, namely Haworth, Oakworth, Oxenhope and Keighley. Plenty of action involved, with plenty of double headed and top and tailed trains.
Most footage was filmed on the Sunday, hence the prevailing weather after the first few clips becoming much sunnier.
