Girl, you are saying something about natural hair folks not having long or healthy hair usually! I thought that I was the only one who noticed this lol. I am a flat ironed natural and I support women who relax.
@kelceynicole6 ай бұрын
I find that natural works best for me. Is it hard work? Absolutely, but I would never go back to a perm bc it was too harsh for my hair and made my hair way too thin for my liking. I’ve even thought about being a straight natural, but it seems like too much maintenance to keep it straight (and too much heat). I also feel like my hair would get way too frizzy bc I live in an area where it’s always super humid, so that’s a no go! It’s all about preference. I love how versatile black hair is. Long, short, permed or natural doesn’t matter. Just wear it how you love it! 😍

I have had natural hair for over 10 years and on a whim, I decided to try the Pureology Color Fanatic and Redken Anti Snap, since you use them and are my hair goals, on my 59 year old self.....gurl....you were not lying when you said there is so much moisture in the hair!! I sent a picture to my stylist and her mouth dropped!! I am post menopausal and had lost so much hair from menopause and now my hair is almost to my bra strap!! Your hair is gorgeous as are you! I believe people should do whatever they want with their own hair and it is nobody’s business. Now, I had to stop relaxing my hair due to health reasons otherwise i would still be relaxed. It’s just easier. I have been natural again for less than 3 years and get silk presses about 3 to 4 times a year. Most definitely health over length. My hair was just above my bra strap but because my hair has thinned out (blood pressure meds) I had the stylist cut it to my shoulders. Great video! Thanks

I love your hair. So gorgeous. I wore my hair in a similar style when I was relaxed. I have fibroids so I stopped relaxing a few years ago. I don’t know if relaxers caused them or not. I miss getting a relaxer and the ease of styling that came along with it. The one major benefit for me now that I am natural is that my hair is significantly longer than it’s ever been. Not sure why that is. My sister has relaxed hair past her lower back.

Thank you so much! Oh wow, I do hear that relaxers can have serious health ramifications. I totally understand missing the ease of having a relaxer because natural hair can be a lot to maintain. I have been relaxed from I was about 11 because my hair was so thick as a child. Right before pandemic, I thought I would go natural and short because I wanted something new. 1st xmas of pandemic was the last time I relaxed mine. Natural didn't do the big chop and I've been ok I just wash blow dry and straighten and I get same results as my relaxer. Yes lil bit of hotness or rain and it does want to go curly/frizz...I adapted by just scrapping back in a bun my relaxer is grown out now so all even texture. That be me! Yours looks nice and healthy.
@KeikoBeauty Жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa!! Oh wow that’s great you’ve been able to grow it out and maintain the same beautiful results by just washing, blow drying, & straightening!! But i feel ya on the frizz, that was a huge issue for me too. Buns and other protective styles will always save ya!! Thanks so much!!

Ugh hair it’s probably the hardest for me lol. Like you I had so much damage and breakage from being relaxed. So I finally found a hairstylist that is about hair health. So I’ve been natural for almost 2 years. But I do wear a sow in to really protect my hair from heat. My goal of course is to one day be able to wear my own hair, and I can say wearing a protective style my hair has grown and gotten so thick and healthy I’m excited to see what the outcome is. Your hair is beautiful relaxed or not and embrace the grey girl( I dye mine) 😂😂but you know when you don’t have the nice grey but you have the brassy grey, yea that me.

Have you heard about amino acid hair treatments? Design Essentials has a treatment called, strengthening therapy system (STS). It provides manageability for those who are relaxer free and like to straighten their hair without worrying about it reverting or frizzing up once it is straightened. I’ve been relaxer free since 2012 and mainly wear my hair straightened. For the first few years of my relaxer free journey, I would get the Design Essentials treatment about twice a year. Now my hair is heat trained and I still have a curl pattern. I learned to stay away from titanium flat irons and titanium blow dryers. Only ceramic can touch my hair.

Hey ladybug, I love your channel. I took am a relaxed girl but medication took my hair out. It's growing back just thin. I'm going to try your conditioners treatment for a while. I really want to go back to a perm. I only relax my hair twice a year. Help pleaae

Hi beautiful! Thanks so much! I’m so sorry you’ve been having troubles with medication. That can be hard bc you sometimes just have to wait until your hair gets back to what is considered normal. I hope that’s soon for you hun! Definitely try the DIY conditioner, it should help with strengthening your hair for sure!! Sounds like you’re doing everything right! Probably will just take some time. Hang in there ❤️🥰🥰🥰

I agree it is just hair. However, now that the research has confirmed that hair relaxers cause cancer/fibroids/hormonal imbalances that have led to class action lawsuits, I hope everyone is aware and gets regular checkups. Be blessed.

I understand. However, sometimes we have to make choices in the best interest of our lifestyles and not health...NOT saying that it's right! Like I stated in the video, I know it's better for me to be natural. But I just cannot do that right now. I just hope that we alllll make the best INFORMED decision that works for us 🤗

Great video as always. I'm currently natural (wavy hair) but I prefer to straighten and dye my hair. Frizz is a big issue where I'm from, Clarksville TN. My question is that any of the products you have mentioned would work for my hair? Thanks in advance.
@KeikoBeauty Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much lovely!! Ahh i know what you mean, frizz is no fun and it seems impossible to tame sometimes! I’m not sure if any of these are made specifically for frizz. The only i can think of that would work to take frizz would be the Pureology leave-in conditioner. But you could use the other products as well for general hair maintenance!❤️❤️

Hi Keiko 🙂 In what order did you put the heat protectant and the purology spray please?

Hey lovely! I apply the Pureology spray then the heat protectant. But i guess it shouldn’t really matter! Just as long as you apply the heat protectant to damp/wet hair!

Hi, Im new to your channel. Ques: i have very fine long (little wavy) hair. What would be the best for tangles or a good conditioner with a lot 'slip'? 😊
@KeikoBeauty Жыл бұрын
Hi Dawn! Thanks for supporting!! Ahh I’m not exactly sure about that as I have not had curly hair for some time. But i would say look for lines specifically made for natural hair! I know a lot of my friends love Mielle Organically (not sure of the spelling)…also check out Doctor My curls on Instagram & KZbin! She is a curly hair queen!!!! She can definitely steer you in the right way! I’m sorry i couldn’t help more ❤️❤️
