Me and others say he is an excellent strategist but terrible tactician. If you know Labours plans (they are all in the manifesto there have been few surprises), the ideas are strong and implementation practical. What Starmer is awful at is the day to day management of communication and maneuvering that is needed. As the old addage goes, strategy is good until the battle starts.
