2 additional points: 1. Foward recital in Wilds is MUCH faster than that in World so you can use it more when the monster is in front of you rather than using neutral recital; 2. You can now press L2 (focus mode button) and use RS to change the hunter's facing direction during recitals, which is very helpful when doing damage with recitals (eg. Echo wave blunt)

The just frames for the performance and wound break attack are the main difficulties for me. The short cuts are another thing but that's more of getting used to it. I'm certainly mailing this along with gl, I just gotta get some practice in with the timing.

@ oh ok my bad. I must have missed it. I’m seriously considering Hh for my secondary. (Not pocket horn but actually play it right) I haven’t used Hh seriously since portable 3rd. I hope there are fun bubbles. Give me part breaker or a feature that makes wounds easier to generate in a bubble! The evade though does feel really good. Also I feel like in resolution mode on ps5 the just frames for the performance are hard to hit during a fight. I mean I’m struggling to learn the timing as is but during the fight I think the audio cues I’m listening for aren’t lining up with the frames so my input is off even though I’m pressing the button at the right time according to the melody. It’s a beta though…or is me needing practice. I want to blame it on the beta though.

Dang this looks really cool. I didn't get to play the beta, but I'm definitely getting the game. This version of dootstick looks excellent. And hitting that timing on focus earthshaker attack is amazing!! Some things I noticed that weren't said: it seems like the best wakeup attack is the offset attack currently (but could change depending on the horn in the real game). Also using Focus mode to aim for the head during recitals, recital slaps, and normal swings seems pretty useful!!

I have one small addition. The offset Melody (and I assume other future special melodies) can be played during your recital of other songs. So if you are reciting 2 or 3 songs and the monster is winding up an attack, you might be able to squeeze that in between songs to counter the attack.

Hey Uno, hope you’re weekend is going well… I really love the QoL Wilds HH received. I will say wish we still had neutral draw but hey won’t complain… I really love that we can store notes so many different ways now and that many of our songs can be queued up so much shorter…. I personally hope all the Offsets start and have two triangle/circle notes cause it will make getting Offset back up faster and often… Also I always play attack and echo wave when I do reverb… so would be Triangle/circle/triangle/ circle/circle or white/red/white/ red/red 😂
@boguinator2 ай бұрын

@ well is Rise when you would draw your weapon you wouldn’t play any note it would just put the HH on your shoulder… in World you always would draw into a forward slam I believe unless your hunter came to a complete stop than you could draw in neutral… I was hoping we would be able to do that in wilds also but now you’re just able to draw into three different swings

I really miss the wake up nuke from Iceborn, and I am not sure if the super pound has the extra range on the second hit either, so it seems like HH might be without a good wake up, but that's fairly minor. Still a little too fast for my taste, but I think it is a great compromise between Rise and World HH. Getting the echo fields to come out can be a bit tricky with the button timings; I find myself doing recitals a lot when I don't want to. Other than that, I'm super excited to get stuck in with the HH in Wilds, and am still debating maining it or the GL, which is amazing.
@jamesnewman75092 ай бұрын
Firstly, thank you for this. I learned some new things. For context, I've dabbled with HH in World/IB, Rise/SB, and now the beta/demo, but never really mained it (though using HH as part of a super-regenerator build got me through some tough parts of IB in particular). Point being, I'm at the 'know enough to be dangerous (to myself as much as others)' stage. So, while 'skill issue' is definitely the core problem, if you (or anyone) has tips regarding the offset melody, I'd appreciate it. I was just practicing on the Doshaguma, and generally what would happen is I'd either whiff the move right into one of their slams, whiff and we'd both miss each other, or just hit them, for a bit of damage and no further reaction. Knowing about holding trigger will help with the timing, for sure. But still, on the rare occasions when I hit with it, it just didn't seem that .. imactful, mechanically. I mean, compared to what I could get with both switch axe and, especially, great sword, with their powerful follow-ups. Basically, it just seemed like a fairly ordinary 'down', which I was doing very frequently anyway. If I simply rolled out of the way of an attack, I'd seem to be in a better position to attack, simply because I'd end up closer. Overall, it seems like a weapon with a very high skill ceiling, where the mastery seems more focused on understanding the weapon rather than the monster (c.f. great sword). And that move, I feel like I just don't 'get', if that makes sense.
@Uno_Hunter2 ай бұрын
@jamesnewman7509 Honestly I mostly just use offset sometimes just because it looks cool lol. I can't say I fully play to be as effiencent as possible. I just like doing cool looking moves, but I can see how just dodging would probably be better.

am i the only one who does not like this hunting horn so far? its all in the echo bubbles, i can tell already palico ai and ranged teammates are gonna avoid them like the plague or god forbid you get a hyper mobile monster that moves around a lot. unless horn maestro makes it last stupid long at release i'm not looking forward to having to upkeep and wrangle monsters into the bubbles for max damage, i much prefer it before where i knew i was hitting as hard as i could out the gate. and ok the performance beats are cool but i still prefer the directional encores for the sexy animations and heft, it made hunting horns moveset have a wider spectrum of swing speeds and motion values (though i get they were slow as hell). wilds feels more like a cc + support weapon than a crazy hammer with support elements weaved in. i get like 90% of the old moveset is there but its the little things that push it in that direction for me. maybe i'm judging too early and the echo bubbles wont be a problem with skills or patches later on, man i'm praying i'm wrong because i adore hh, iceborn especially
@SunnyJCR2 ай бұрын
Iceborne HH had such a fantastic move set. The motion values were the only thing holding it back. Wilds HH definitely feels less weighty. Also, the portion of damage locked behind bubbles pretty much ensures that HH's dps will suffer in multi-player (outside of scripted runs). On the other hand, the skill expression with the new note queuing options is really high and offset melody feels fantastic. Also, bubble placement should actually feel pretty strategic in solo... I think I'll come to love it upon the full release. Especially if we get a good variety of horns within the meta (which sends likely given the massive changes to attack up songs in the Beta). The nice thing is that MH:World/Iceborne still exists and remains a fantastic game to this day. We can experience both iterations at our leisure (we won't talk about Rise HH).
