I don't understand why they won't play this on Classical WFMT (98.7 FM) in Chicago. The station manager and program director are TOTAL PINHEADS if they can't see this is Right Up Their Alley. I can imagine Peter Van DeGraff playing this on WFMT Through The Night , or Candace Agree on The Un-Rush Hour.

I don't know about the radio station you're talking about, but normally radio tends to play shorter songs because the majority of people are stupid and don't like songs longer then 5 minutes. Thankfully we're living in the age of the internet and all of this great music is easily accessible, without radio.

@@jamesreed6001 WFMT often plays whole movements from symphonies and concertos. A whole different 🌎 from Top 40, which all too often edits songs to fit their format. This is why the Top 40 format and its overly tight playlists is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

I totally agree. I have been trying to get Radio 3 to play it for a long time however this has fallen on deaf ears. I am not sure if this is prejudice over the fact that it was composed by a rock musician and so seen as not highbrow enough for a ‘serious’ radio station or because he committed suicide? We hear Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue or John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine ad nauseum and the Piano Concerto compares very favourably with these.
