Keith Green 1979 Jesus Northwest Because of You

What a night! "I hate your festivals and your religious events..." How many other musicians [or pastors or speakers for that matter] would be so obedient to speak against the apathy and casual Christianity that was pervasive in the Body of Christ? It's the same in every age. I remember as a high school sophomore sitting there in deep conviction, and yet wrapped up in the childlike joy of Keith. His message pierced the heart then, and still does today. I remember walking out in a field there and Keith was walking toward me alone. I sorta freaked out, but walked up to him. He hugged me and blessed my life. I will never forget that moment. I was just starting out on piano and worship became my passion - and still is to this day. I have been blessed to travel the world and sing and lead worship, carrying the love of the Father to forsaken places. I can't wait to get to heaven ... to see Jesus, of course, by far the greatest joy, but also to see Keith and thank him for his outrageous love and undone obedience to Jesus while on earth!!! He only lived a few years past this night, but his legacy as a man of God continues on!!!

I was at that 79 festival and was filled with the Holy Spirit a year before (Jesus Northwest 1978)....my assistant pastor took full advantage of the huge tent at the 79 festival for selling what Keith called "Jesus junk"

He was so anointed! I look forward to the day when we can sing some more of his beautiful music he has created in heaven as we will all be worshipping and praising Jesus!
