A very honest and pure album, written in difficult times (Keith Jarrett was suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in that period) which you can actually feel through the interpretation magically set out by this great pianist in this truly amazing work. Being an ex-pianist and suffering from a burn-out (call it a raging fire), this splendid performance cuts right through the heart... I can listen to this album a thousand times and more without it ever loosing its magic. The reviews made by several critics are completely off... They are clearly not able to relate on an emotional level. What a great work Mr. Jarrett. May you keep moving our hearts forever.

Heard on RTE Lyric FM Sept 12th 22.00; bought album (and Koln Concert 1975): the left hand!! Irish idiom comes through so sensitively. I thought I had had all my musical disappointments - so so many good tunes with no good score - and now this has restored my faith in the left side of the brain. And free! Made my year! Link going to my far-flung kids, with love.

I feel lucky to have a much more accurate transcription of this, and in fact the entire "The Melody at Home with You", than this version. I play most of them. The transcriptions that I have are not available now, but may be published someday.

There are a lot of errors - most noticeably, a lot of bars are marked as being in 4/4 when they are just 3/4 bars with heavy rubato/rallentando/ritardando.
