That break in the middle is so long without the music I thought maybe the video had ended, besides Won't Get Fooled Again, that might be be the longest pause he ever had in a song. For years I wished I could hear his drums by themselves so I could hear exactly what he was doing, it's so cool that these isolated videos are coming out, it gives us a peak into his contributions.

I can just hear those power chords kicking in for "sure plays a mean Pinball".nearly unheard on AM radio 'til then. Keith is setting that up. quite possibly my favorite WHO tune. it nearly didn't even make the album. a rock critic that Pete let hear the opera, ''liked it'', but didn't love it. that guy was a Pinball fanatic. that's when PT told him there was a track about TOMMY's tremendous, inexplicable ability to play the game. he told PT, "it's a fucking masterpiece." the rest is history.

Putting the 'rule book' to bed, ie drumming technique and all that bollox, this is (my opinion) one of the best tracks in the world backed up by a killer beat. Since he has a hi hat I assume he has a really fast foot that simulates the sound of a double kick, but I assume for the rhythm of it he has a fast foot while adding toms to sync his bass and hi hat, I could be wrong but that's how I play this song on drums
@maxmoon2254
@maxmoon2254 5 жыл бұрын
TheAwesomeguy559 he’s playing double kick. Right foot is basically doings 1/8ths and he puts a couple 16th note triplets (on BD) coming into the 1 just about every time. From what I understand Keith’s used his hi-hat’s unconventionally. More like a tandem crash cymbal. You can hear him hitting them wide open on this track and many others. Kinda sounds like marching or classical hand held cymbals a little. The Hats were just barely open (1/4”) enough so left foot could do a HH bark or use it to play tighter HH patterns if needed but Moonie preferred the left foot BOOM & the CRASH of the open hats to an inaudible (in The Who) time keeping “chick”.
