My favourite solo from an artist that I absolutely love. Please excuse the mistakes and occasional overplaying :) Hope you dig it!

There’s no reason this video shouldn’t have blown up. Honestly, I check out covers of solos as “entertainment,” because we all know…they’re rarely done well. But yours is a rare A+: you captured what needed to be note for note and put your spin on it. Well done, sir. You made my night!

Thank you! My signal chain looks like this: Amp (Ceriatone SSS) -> Suhr Reactive Load -> Focusrite Scarlet audio interface -> Logic Pro X -> MixIR2 that I use to load the impulse responses. I usually go with the Celestion IRs, and set them to my liking. On top of this I add a standard Logic Pro compressor, so that I don’t overload the signal as much.

@@janusztheguitarist8111 Hi! I’m new here in your channel😁 I’m using my Marshall 1959 amp. Will it sound alright? Also, what is focusrite scarlet audio interface? Do I need it? Thanks
@janusztheguitarist8111
@janusztheguitarist8111 2 жыл бұрын
@@gkmendoza Hi! :D I mean, the amp itself is killer of course, so it will sound fairly decent :D however, before you even start recording your amp, you should have two things in mind: 1) you need some sort of attenuator to contain the “energy” of the amp, normally that is your speaker cabinet. I can’t record a fully-blown 100W amp with a cab so I use the Suhr Reactive Load, which acts as an attenuator and allows me to connect my amp to an audio interface and use my favourite speaker simulations. 2) you need an audio interface in order to connect it to the computer and record audio. Hope this helps! If you have any questions, you can hit me up and I’ll explain everything in more detail :)

@@janusztheguitarist8111 no problem. It helped me a lot with trying to learn it. I struggle in following these videos where guys are telling you each note at a time, I can’t stand those videos personally Lol Their like “ok go to the d string on the 14 fret bend up blah blah blah” Lol I can’t do it, I end up losing my place. It’s easier for me to listen to someone play it correctly and then If I have to I’ll slow it down a little, I’ll just slow it down some. But of all the videos I watched I think yours was more dead on ! I also liked those 2 extra licks u added in the beginning of the solo, I like them enough that I am gonna use them in my video of this solo ! It was a very nice touch and added a little extra something at the beginning where it’s sorta slow going ! Your a good guitar player, hope to see you do more videos ! God bless

@@j-ferrell144 Thank you once again! And I totally feel you on the guitar lessons where someone spends 15 minutes telling me that this is the "e" note on the 9th fret of the g string and that I should put my ring finger on that fret. I instantly lose any interest in following that tutorial. I get more by observing (and listening) how the masters play their tunes (thanks to people that upload a footage with a close-up on the guitarists hands!). I am super flattered that you liked my little licks that I added to this solo, feel free to take them! :D
@j-ferrell144

@@janusztheguitarist8111 no problem man. I occasionally will find solos I want to learn and see some guys add a few extra licks. Sometimes I’ll use them in my own videos, other times I won’t. But I definitely like those licks u added. I come from the school of slash, and zakk wylde an Guthrie govan, joe B, and mark K and Gary Moore. Like a lot of us did. But when I heard this solo the first time I really gained a lot of respect for Keith Urban. When I first saw him I just thought he was this sorta country pop star that had good looks and was sort of the boy toy the record labels was using. But the more I got to listening to his music is the more I realized the guy can actually play ! And not just play but he rips ! Not to mention he is singing while playing that solo Lol I mean it’s so hard to sing and play lead at the same time ! The guy is incredibly talented ! And this solo is legendary. Cheers 🥂

I also did have one other question. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a good sound in terms of recording. I saw some of your other vids like the John mayor improv u did that was really good. The sound quality on that was very nice ! I was curious how your set up in terms of being either line in or mic up ? I also have that pre sonus audio box usb that has 2 inputs for recording. I have a Marshall jvm 210h half stack. I tried running a line straight out of the back where it says imulated line out from there into the input 1 on that inner face, and then into my mac I was using GarageBand for the recording software and when I did that I just was not getting that classic Marshall sound running it that way ? I mean the amp sounds awesome, but it’s like when I run it that way it’s losing its umph like the sound doesn’t seem as clear and full. It sounds more thin and cheap. Do u have any suggestions. I am no recording guru at all and I am sure u know a lot more then me. Just curious how u run your set up to get that high end sound in your videos and if there’s anything I may be doing wrong ! I’ve looked all over the Internet and havent really found a lot for this. Thanks again !

This was about as good as a cover can get, bravo dude, but man, I cant believe the one most glaring 'mistake/sore point' was literally the FIRST note of the whole thing! lol That was a badly timed and weak prebend dude and it's obvious as clear glass that you can nail that better.
