I'm no stranger to the rain
I'm a friend of thunder
Friend, is it any wonder lightning strikes me
I've fought with the devil
Got down on his level
But I never gave in, so he gave up on me

Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, all said there was no better voice from a male country music artist than Keith Whitley , and i love George Strait but Keith Whitley just was on a level all his own! Rest peacefully Keith ya hear.

Alcohol, meth, heroin, and cocaine have all been things in my life that started off as being a solution to my pain and deficiencies, a friend when i felt lonely, and a magic potion that eliminated my insecurities and awkwardness when talking to or trying to get to know and date women. .Its a rough road but it can get better. I hear a lot of heartache in Keith Whitleys lyrics.

For a man that battled more demons than any one man should ever have to, he could always write and sing a song that would really touch home with people and just grab your attention. There will never be another Keith Whitley especially today in the snow flake generation. Truly a shame that these new artist dont strive to be more like Keith Whitley when it comes to their writing and singing. We miss you Keith, rest easy sir.

I went to my bedroom and cried for the rest of the afternoon. what a waste, there is so much alcoholism that ruins lives. "We are in a golden age of music. There will be a time when technology becomes so advanced that we'll rely on it to make music rather than raw talent...and music will lose its soul."- Freddie Mercury When I listen to today's music, i remember this quote. How correct he was. Songs like these are so unappreciated. Edit: It's a misquoted statement. Sorry for my ignorance.

Yes his songs and voice could just touch your heart and soul sadly he passed away I believe in 1989 I was only five but knew all his awesome songs and can remember watching his funeral. He had some issues with depression and alcohol he had kicked his habit for a little while but sadly it was said he died of an accidental overdose of alcohol they said he had over five times the legal limit of alcohol. If you’ve never heard any of his other songs check them out. Also may God Bless you all in the UK as well.

I'm no stranger to the rain I'm a friend of thunder Friend, is it any wonder lightning strikes me? I've fought with the devil Got down on his level But I never gave in, so he gave up on me I'm no stranger to the rain I can spot bad weather And I'm good at finding shelter in a downpour I've been sacrificed by brothers Crucified by lovers But through it all, I withstood the pain I'm no stranger to the rain When I get that foggy feeling The one I'm feeling now If I don't keep my head up, I may drown But it's hard to keep believing I'll even come out even While the rain beats a hole in the ground And tonight, it's really coming down I'm no stranger to the rain But there'll always be tomorrow And I'll beg, steal, or borrow a little sunshine And I'll put this cloud behind me That's how the man designed me To ride the wind and dance in a hurricane I'm no stranger to the rain Oh, no, I'm no stranger to the rain I'm no stranger to the rain I'm a friend of thunder Friend, is it any wonder lightning strikes me? But I'll put this cloud behind me That's how the man designed me To ride the wind and dance in a hurricane I'm no stranger to the rain Oh, no, I'm no stranger to the rain
