You are absolutely correct, WD 40 is not a lubricant. It tends to gum things up on smaller devices. It does make a very good light-duty cleaner. Cheers

If that thing's made even half as well as the OS aircraft engines I have it should run like a swiss watch once you've degummed everything! And it certainly looks to be typical OS quality from what I can see in the video. Would love to see it on the rails if possible, once it's restored.

I mainly consider WD40 as a cleaning fluid, it can be used as a penetrating fluid too as it can be used to unstick stuck parts but never as a lubricant. It's main purpose is for water displacement, that's how it got it's name.
