“Fiddling” seems like a very good machiners term. I’m a machinist making very tiny medical parts on Swiss style machines. My fingers always seem extremely large. Being patient gets crazy and sometimes walking away for a break is mandatory. Not recommended by the boss although. Great job with the tiny parts! You also stay safe and extremely healthy.

Could you turn around the linkage pins so the Cotter pin end is on the inside of the setup as to hide the "pig tail" ends being seen? I understand this could be more work but the visual aspect may be improved. IMHO

It's a matter of preference, once these parts are painted black they will not be as "up front" visually. Turning the pins around would be a pain and I may as well have used blank head bots as the brake gear is not functional.
