Hello Keith. I did the Lab . it was Challenging but a good way to Test our Skills with the OSPF Concept. Some of IssueS with regards to the Lab were Namely: 1, The OSPF neighbour relationship were not formed due to Mismatched Hello -Interval , Ospf Network type. 2, Core Switches Routing not Enabled 3, After configured with correct wild card Mask ( 0.0.0.15) and (0.0..0.255) Ping was Successful to both Servers from PC1 Thank you Keith.

Keith! You kicked my behind with this one. Lots of great curveballs in there. Took me longer than I would have liked, and had to restart from scratch a couple times, but eventually got it done. This one really pushed me to learn and get outside my comfort zone, and for that I have to say thanks!! 😎

Thanks Keith, I tried and failed yesterday but gave it another go this morning and solved it! I had to use show run a few times though and once I had seen an issue I then went and tried to find a correct show command to see if I could find the error in those. It was a toughy! Need to remind myself about vlans.

Hi Keith, this took me a long time to do, but I did do it :) Very happy. I found drawing out the network map and writing in the IP's helped me focus on the ospf networks I needed. I did have a question regarding part 2. So for part 2, I simply put a 10.16.16.x IP on SW3 and a 10.16.8.x IP on SW2, pointed them to R3 and R2 respectively for their gateway. Is there an alternative that I could have done? Management IPs are always confusing for me, I don't know why.

Thanks Keith. I'm done with the first part. However I have a question regarding the management Vlan for the switches. I don't see any? :) When we do a "show vlan" on a core switch this is the outcome: 10 PUBLIC 20 PRIVATE 30 VOIP 40 CCTV
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question Koszification. The short answer is, there aren't any. You will need to create the appropriate SVIs, assign an address from the correct address space, and then set up a default gateway. Great practice of several items. Thanks for the question, and enjoy!!!

I am pretty stuck on this one. I have OSPF configured between R1, R2 & R3. Each Router can ping the servers, but I am having trouble getting the VLANs behind R1 to show up in the routing table, thus the packet does not get returned. Can someone help me out?
@KeithBarker Жыл бұрын
Hi @Alex-eg9yd! Make sure all the interfaces on R1 are included in OSPF. If you are using a single area (0), and easy way to verify all interfaces are participating is by using the following in ospf router configuration mode: network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0 Then, make sure that R1 is an OSPF neighbor with R2 and R3: show ip ospf neighbors If you have the network statement on all 3 routers, and using the default for timers, you should be set. hope that helps, and happy studies.

@@KeithBarker Hi Keith, First off, thank you for the quick response! Really enjoying these labs! I'm hoping to take my CCNA here soon! Anyhow, right after I left you a comment I was able to figure it out, using two different methods, but none that I'm 100% sure they are correct. My problem is getting the Vlan networks to show up in OSPF after setting the command 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0. The way I did it was by configuring Inter-vlan routing on R1 and configuring a sub-interface for each. I also configured port g1/0/3 as a trunk and changed the gateway of the PC to the sub-interface on R1 (10.16.0.5). This works and can access both servers, but I can't ping either of the core loopbacks. That is also my other question, I know this was not part of the task, but how do I make it so PC1 and servers on other networks can ping the core loopbacks as well? Thank you!
