I think Merrow is one of the greatest rythmic guitarists I've ever listened to. Not just for his playing, but also for the way he composes. He thinks different. Best piece of metal of all times. Very well done, dude.

He thinks about structuring metal songs the way a drummer would. The repetitions are carefully considered, everything flows and fits together perfect. It's an obsession.

Ethan Vawter To be fair to an extent they do, you have to agree that if you're playing guitar enough certain patterns or shapes stick in your head, and there seems to be some sort of misconception that if you know theory then you just like lose all creativity and just do things because you feel that's how it should be theoretically, where as in reality that's not true in the slightest. I know a lot of theory but I don't write purely through it, I'll just kind of analyze what I'm doing as I'm going and know how to achieve certain sounds that I want to continue on to

You and Jeff man. For years I've looked for music as great as PanterA, Old Megadeth, Nevermore, Tool, Type O negative, Carcass... Notice a trend? Most of these bands don't exsist anymore, or their current stuff isn't that great. However you sir have nailed it with this, spice dealer and conquering dystopia. 3:06 - 3:25, killing the dreams of some of the best guitarists, a single note at a time. Admirable that you flat out admit you can't play it, rather than trying and failing miserably like uh.. 90%+ of people who post videos on KZbin. Kudos for that. Serious note- I agree with the majority of the other comments. Very "Opeth," which isn't a bad thing at all. Keep up the fine work, sir.
