I have two pf-9s . I put some Mcarbo parts in one today . I replaced the trigger , trigger springs and recoil spring . WOW what a difference .I do the other one soon . Thank you Chris .

I installed the P11 trigger spring kit, Stainless steel guide rod, but not the not the 20 lb recoil spring. I'm old, have RA and already have a hard time racking the slide on 16 lb factory spring. Plus, when I reload I use the recommend 'starting load' most of the time. My last order was the new (wider) aluminum trigger! Love the way it feels! But I had a problem, the RESET was horrible! My new trigger reset spring from the trigger kit worked great with the old plastic trigger. So it wasn't caused by the spring. Could not figure it out. I almost reinstalled the old trigger. But, since I wasn't planning on using the P11, so I put it back in the safe. Today, I decided the .380 with 6 rd mags might not be enough, even if I carry a couple of spare mags. So, I got out the P11 and dry fired it a few time. Yeah, on 'Reset' the trigger would move forward, then stop for a bit, then start moving slowly forward again, until reset was done! Sometimes the trigger would just stop in the middle of reset! I decided to inspect the plastic frame for defects. Nothing seen on both sides of the trigger, looking at the bottom of the frame. Was it shifting sideways? I held the P11 up high to look up at the trigger from below. Nothing seen. Then, Held the P11 sideways 6 inches from my eyes and saw the problem! The new trigger was too long for the plastic Trigger guard! The tip of the new trigger was dragging on the bottom (inside) of the trigger guard! The factory molding seam was sticking up about 0.1 mm. Some light sandpaper work and my Reset was working perfectly! Now, maybe I can re-install the over-Travel screws and see if it could possible work any better!

Another trick that I have done for decades as a mechanic and that Chris just briefly touched on is cutting the short side of your Allen wrench even shorter to easily get into tighter places. Now you must be careful to deburr you flats after you cut it and to not round your flats. Thank you Chris

Just installed my upgrade kits from mcarbo and it truly is a huge difference, I will say this video made it look a lot easier than it was could be due to the expertise and the fact it’s a new gun he’s working on but none the less it’s done easy enough! Really satisfied with the out come and the quality of the parts!! Now if only I could find a company that still makes aftermarket sights for the pf9 and I’ll be all set!

PF9 FLAT TRIGGER AND SPRING KIT Installed today went well very easy to do if you follow the u-tube video. Only one point I found where it says to use a 3/32 punch I used a 1/16 punch and that seems to work better for me. I have not been to the range yet to check it out, but it worked with snap caps.

Ive owned this pistol for at least 4 years and never have shot the thing. But, ive upgraded this and that like extra mags with +1 extended floor plate. So now the springs and trigger. I hope to take all my new stuff out for a good shoot one of these days.

As an owner of a PF9 for years, I agree everything needs upgrading if it’s gonna be a carry pistol. Mine got so bad it would jam and stovepipe even with great target ammo let alone hollow points.

I used VibraTite instead of locktite just Incase I need to ever get the screws out. Those little Allen keys strip easily. Also I only got one of the pre/over travel screws, no matter for me as I intended not to use it. I’ve had the trigger installed for about a month now maybe. Absolutely love it vs the factory trigger. Love all your products, top notch stuff!

I went to the range and had a consistent trigger reset failures even after checking function with snap caps after install. I have an early production P-11 with the MCARBO Spring kit also installed. I needed to remove some material at the tip of each set screw to achieve proper reliable function in my gun. The issue was pre-travel, my gun needed more pre-travel in order to reset than the unmodified set screws would allow. If I adjusted back far enough to get a reliable reset then the trigger wouldn't release the hammer. Hopefully this will help someone else if they are having the same issue.

a great video the step by step was spot on and easy to follow and do it your self the only differance was the extractor spring screw it a t8 not a t10 torx .

Looks like I got a bad one.. my threaded holes are off to one side... in other words.. it wont center up enough for me to be able to start the set screw down the center of the trigger.. almost like it was machined 1-2mm off. I had to drill the hole slightly larger. My factory trigger lined up perfectly. Fix was super easy and I don't see it creating any problems since he mentioned some ppl had to do this for other brands of triggers.

I suspect that's what I'd do too. I still worry about the lighter firing pin spring too. It has no hammer safety except it's stiffness if ever dropped nose first.

My p11 still has stock parts but the 1 thing I did to help alot with the trigger pull feel was the keltek fluff and buff.. It made the whole gun feel so smooth. It took a few pounds off the pull. Look up the procedure online but iirc the most important part was smoothing the transfer bar. That alone smoothed out the action considerably. I'm looking forward to adding the trigger now.

That seam line, is called a parting line. That's where the two halves of the mold come together for the injection molding.

I don't mind the 5.5# trigger pull, it's the terrible trigger shape itself. Lighter springs on a carry gun bother me so has anyone just replaced the stock with the flat trigger? 2# isn't something you want on a carry gun anyway.

Found a torx set, did the swap out in about an HR. also swapped out the extractor and spring I got from keltec. Video helped a lot. Putting the firing pin back I just get it as close as I can and continue to pres in and out on the pin while I finish the screw so I knew it was captured the whole way in. Over travel screw is pretty much useless for me unless it's threaded all the way out and I just overall don't like the way it looks. Backed the pretravel out about 3/4 of a thread from malfunction. Thinking about getting the recoil spring later to see if it actually helps.

Took it out for a quick function check, ran smoothly. I'm gonna take it out this weekend and get a feel for the new trigger. Not as light as I was expecting, but significant enough to keep the firearm from moving around while squeezing the trigger.

I noticed just a few tiny differences in the p11. Hammer spring shape, hammer pin went in opposite side. My p11 aluminum frame dropped in easier too. Very thankful for the video

Great video! The only issue I am having is that the extractor screw (T8 not T10) in my Kel Tec is being really stubborn. I can't loosen it! Will put some silicone around it and try again later. Has anyone else had this problem? I may have to leave the stock spring in place if I can't figure out a way to loosen the screw!

Don’t. The trigger is so bad on mine I am ready to throw it away. By the time you buy all of these upgrades you are like $100 away from a used Glock. Keltec makes some cool stuff. This gun is not one of them.

These upgrade kits are for those of us that already own one of these turds and are debating about trading it in for almost nothing or just putting it in the back of the safe never to be seen again. If someone doesn't already own a PF-9 then a Taurus, S&W M&P, or Ruger would be better and still not break the bank. Glock is awesome too, of course, but is more money...new at least.

Nice idea for a range gun but I cannot be the only one who does not want a light and/or short trigger pull on a defensive firearm which will most likely be stuck in a pocket at some time or another... Many of us buy these pistols with the long heavy trigger pull for a reason and it makes no sense to change that... Also many attorneys who handle defensive shootings suggest your firearm should be factory original to give the prosecuting attorney less chance to make you look like a bloodthirsty killer because you modified your pistol

@@Puddin127 I've been carrying for over 35 years. My father first put a gun in my hand when I was 4 years old. I've fired more than 300,000 rounds and loaded several million. If you need a 2 pound trigger on a defensive weapon you should probably get some practice. It's really not that difficult to hit with a 12 pound double action trigger.

Why was the pretravel and stop designed to have them push against each other in the same hole? 1st the stop should be near the bottom of the trigger for fine tuning and minimize leverage. The pretravel should not be dependant on the post travel adjustment. Are you not allowed to seperate the 2 screws in the single hole to adjust each seperately? At this point I may still get the trigger but just superglue the eraser to the bottom back of the trigger or back of triggerguard.

OK so what black magic did this guy use to get the trigger pin out? I have literally hit the damn thing so hard it broke my punch and the pin hasn't budged. What gives?

I had the same issue, bent my 1/16 very quickly. I switched to a 3/32 punch which worked much better but was an EXTREMLY tight fit and I wound up slightly damaging the trigger axis. It all turned out fine but i would reccomend using a different, stronger 1/16 punch or tapping (hammering more like it) the trigger pin out about 1/4 of the way with a 3/32 and then switching back to the 1/16. There are probably better ways but they're unknown to me.

I found the trigger upgrade to be a disappointment the new trigger had so much side play that I wound up putting the original back in. The trigger spring would not line up properly because the eye hole was too big. What a waste of money and effort.
