Just a reminder that goty is usually for the most iconic or innovative game of the year that broadly appeals to everyone. HD2 is a great game and by all means it should be qualified but there's a reason they won best multiplayer instead. Not really gonna beat a chill game like Astrobot that lets players of all ages have a fun time while also cashing in on Sony's connections to have iconic characters for a lot of fandoms to enjoy (thus making it more iconic and also reviving a lot of interest in dead IPs). Balatro has innovative mechanics and creative designs on its side. I'd say it stomps the rest though, Wukong included.

(Super) fun fact about the harvester: don’t aim for the eye (with any of the mg variants), but aim for the leg connections to the body. They go down fast if you aim there. However, Super Earth waged war on the Illuminate upon discovering some sort of technology that, according to Super Earth, was powerful enough to destroy planets (or something along those lines). Therefore, Super Earth fought against the Illuminate up until their “defeat” in the First Galactic War, only for them to return one-hundred years later to fight the Helldivers in the Second Galactic War.

I think there's 3 reasons why i loved the Omens Of Tyranny update. 1: It translates the Illuminates very well from the first game; In HD1, the Illuminates were the weakest faction in terms of raw stats (bugs beat them in raw health + armor, cyborgs beat them with the sheer amount of dakka they wield). In fact, they're the only faction where anti-tank weapons are explicitly never needed. However they also had the greatest amounts of gimmicks. Energy shields block overkill damage, so horde clearing weapons need 2 shots, and high damage slow fire rate weapons are discouraged. Conversely, high fire rate weapons are encouraged to quickly shred through shields, and the lack of armor means even low damage weapons will still kill the Illuminate quickly. Mind control exists, but it's nowhere near as dangerous as the Obleisks were. Being able to restrict your movement while allowing other Illuminate units free movement was an INSANELY powerful utility unit the Illuminate had. I wonder how/if they can work that into a 3d environment. Moving into Helldivers II, yeup. You're encouraged to use high fire rate lower damage weapons vs high damage slow fire rate weapons, and you still do not need to actually bring anti-tank level weapons. The Voteless are too numerous, so unless you're using a grenade launcher or flamethrower, you'll want to pick up a machinegun or incindeary shotgun to quickly kill them. Overseer armor unlike Automaton Armor is ABLATIVE, not absorptive. You could deal 99^99 damage to an overseer's armor, and it'd only break it off, not kill the overseer. And it's divided into sections. Legs, arms and chest each have their own individual armor pieces. The only exception is the head armor. Destroying it instantly kills an Overseer. Harvesters don't need anti-tank level weapons. Targeting their joints will quickly down them. They all encourage fast firing weapons. Just like in HD1. 2: The music. The Terminid's theme is like starship troopers. The Automaton's theme is like a parody of/inspired by stereotypical Russian war music. The illuminates however? their theme is all about inspiring terror. And when you encounter a Harvester, it blares an alarm like sound as despair fills the air. This is the theme of a race that was the victim of genocide and wants revenge. Words alone can't do justice for how amazing the Illuminate theme is. 3 The potential for future content. The Illuminate have only 5 (6 if you include warp ships) units. They could bring back the obelisk, hunters, illusionists and council members, while adding entirely new things. It has me excited for the future of Helldivers II.

Let me tell you all a story. I had gotten in a different shower in my home because my usual showering spot broke and was under repair. Usually I can hear videos from within my bathroom, and I watched the game awards for Silksong (yes I know, clown makeup activated) and decided to watch it. About a month or so ago I decided that I would hang my cape up, and be only re deployed when the times were dire, and just as I finished showering, the helldivers 2 bit came up. To say I was over the moon would be an understatement. I never finished drying up and getting clothes faster than that day, for the darkest hour for super earth was approaching. I re deployed and managed to record first contact within the hour of the illuminate returning, so far my favorite core memory of any game I’ve ever played so far. Thank you Helldivers 2 for making such a unforgettable experience

should've mentioned the new booster in the new warbond too; it's honestly my favourite little toy. it adds a mounted liberator with drum mag to every resupply, which means they now double as mini-turrets too! honestly, quite good especially against the voteless horde whenever you need some extra firepower. I have already developed a strategy in defense missions where we stack these resupply turrets in the back (they never despawn until their ammo is depleted), so they act as backup defense.

I started the game after your first video and have really been enjoying my time with it. I find it funny that one of the most brutal, hostile and deadly games has one of the most wholesome, funny and welcoming communities. I had Just unlocked medium difficulty, so I was still pretty new to the Game, when a guy named Zeke joined my game and started carrying me through the harder missions, explaining wich weapons to use against wich enemys, amd so on. Oh man when the full force of the Illuminates show up it's going to get so crazy. The HD1 units were tough. Getting your controls reversed as a result of a jedi mind trick and accidentally shooting your follow divers was so funny. Also they had ones that would generate a wall so it would block you in but the jump pack was so important in those moments. They were the most fun to fight against back in the first game too.

And to think that during the final days of this vid's editing, Super Earth signed a business contract with Stahl Arms for more weapons. AKA: We got a Killzone Crossover (albeit the 1st half was a expensive one that's worth just under two warbonds at the super store before the backlash caused Arrowhead to give the 2nd half of the crossover to everyone for free).

Not sure if you’re gonna keep playing for a bit longer but can 100% recommend the arc thrower for all things squid smashing, it stuns quite literally everything on the roster right now including Harvesters. That and nothing is more satisfying then zapping away whole hordes with a few shots from an arc thrower

3:13 Kindly stop drinking the kool-aid, very few weapons have ever been nerfed in a remotely significant way over the course of the game's life. Everything else saw pretty much nothing but buffs.

And every time there was an arguably major nerf, it was accompanied by nearly twice as many buffs for the less-used weapons. The eruptor just kept doing more and more damage every time a weapon got nerfed.

@@ninjawiz7932 The Eruptor is a bad example imo, since it was still rather mediocre after its buffs. But other weapons like the Diligence CS, HMG, Laser Cannon, Punisher Plasma, Dominator, Grenade Launcher and more went from being underwhelming at best to becoming staples of my loadout over the course of the "nerf patches". And that's not even getting into stratagems like the Orbital Gatling, Eagle Strafing Run, 120mm Barrage, Eagle Rocket Pods, Rocket Sentry, Machine Gun Sentry and others that got rescued from the garbage bin.

Glad to see you're back in the Galactic War, Big Kel, enjoying the new things this update brought I see. And honestly, it was fantastic, if the Illuminates Scouts were this fun to fight against, I wonder if when the full factions come out, Arrowhead will manage to surpass this Omen of Tyranny update, and hopefully, adding similar units like in HD1 that can capture the feeling of the previous game (blocking paths, swarming you with shielded units and of course the damn mind controlling feature, among others) Merry Christmas and happy New Year too, I reckon, for this 2025, the channel will grow quite a lot, if not reaching 1M subs and finally Kel Country opening it's doors, then at least close to it, easily over 500k.

Fun fact: You can use "this is democracy!" to kick helldivers off the ship when they go in and out of diving pods. Just make sure they are standing on or infront of the diving pods if you want them to just fall off into space.

Ngl, this feels like the Half life update. We got the striders (harvesters),cumbine with jetpacks and sticks (the oversheers),the headcrab zombies(voteless,they even have similar hands) and the city skanners(watchers). Idk if im missing something else.
