DAMN SHE SOUNDS BETTER THAN ON THE STUDIO VERSION! HOW?! She is so immensely talented.

i'd say that here you focus more in the voice than in the album version.

Janet and Aaliyah vibes. She also mentioned Sade and Bjork as inspirations as well. She's the future of music. Black excellence ✨

Man the very first time I heard her I said the exact same thing ! Aaliyah and Janet all day.... She’s one of the best I’ve ever heard.

Pedro Bahia it's cool that Bjork is one of her influences cuz apparently Bjork listens to her too lol she did a dj set with a kelela song in it

Yes! That kind of vibe, fresh and very honest way to express the lyric. I like her a lot.

Also love the fact that she cited Amel Larrieux as an inspiration. Such a great, underestimated vocalist and musician !

Spot on, Janet Jackson's futuristic whimsical flavours, wholesome mellifluous Sade, with runs very akin to Aaliyah. I saw Kelela live about 7 years ago - she was mesmerising

I love that part too. When I first heard the song I was singing along with that part cuz I was too turnt by how nicely she blended that in with the rest of the song. btw They call that an interpolation, since sampling is when it's used in the beat.

A Person she said craig david encouraged her to become interested in performing her pwn songs as if they are each a remix. His songs that he released when he was dj before he sang professionally. The song "something something" specifically. And it got her into UK sounds ala house and garage music. And she started to notice how in the UK they love blacm women who can sing and they mix the rnb vocals with the electronic garage music sound. So thats how she started making music with UK producers first.

Falling into the sky Falling into each other Falling into the sky Falling into each other Saw you then, it fucked me up But I'm working out it's just my luck Shoulda said can we go to bed (now you go) Now we're back to where we started from And I wait, oh wait And I wait for you to turn around But I know you're right We're never coming down And I know you've thought about it Though we've been miles away If you ask me, I'll tell you it's happening Damn, did we have a good time Spinning around, we couldn't get up around Damn, if we put up a fight I'm trying to push it, don't lemme lose it now Been waiting for today But I don't know what to say And you don't know you done it But I'm in my head and I can't forget you later on Stop Let me catch my breath Realizing you ain't seen me yet (It's not the same) It's all I dreamed of (as before) It came, it started Just a little bit late It's early morning now Then we talk it out It's hard to figure out We're getting looks but they can say what they wanna say If they ask me, I'll tell them either way Despite what you took, I miss what you gave Will you stay now? (was spinning around then you turned it around) 'Cause winter's always warmer when you're round Been waiting for today But I don't know what to say And you don't know you done it But I'm in my head and I can't forget you later on Been waiting for today But I don't know what to say And you don't know you done it but I'm in my head Even later on Been waiting for today But I don't know what to say And you don't know you done it But I'm in my head and I can't forget you later on Falling into the sky Falling into each other Falling into the sky Falling into each other
