Keller covers Dead songs with such reverence and love and honor! It's an absolute joy to have such a gifted musician in our midst these days! Thank you for posting this!

Most of us who were there (back in the LIVE Dead days) loved Donna. She was part of the band, part of the music, part of our lives. Part of the whole experience. Wouldn't have been the same without her. I wouldn't trade all that wonderful music for anything. Donna haters are pathetic.

back in the LIVE DEAD how did you know donna , what band was she with , you were in a band with her , back in the sixties , please share your expierience , unfortunately back in the live dead days i was stuck seeing the dead at night , and spenty most days chasing salmon and steelhead , unfortunately i didnt know Donna as you were privy too , into much later in life , i was content to watch pig and the boys play seven hour matinees , 3 hour acoustic ,that was just to get in tune , and then another solid 3 hour electric ,,, that was the early show ,,, they were kind of warmed up by the time the late show started ,,,, if you claim she was part of the seen then i bet we were very close as was the customs back then ,,, my favorite donna moment and story was the concert she laid under her husbands piano thinking she heard the music of angels , according to her to get bought back to this dimension to a very familiar sound of the greatest band she ever heard , it was until after the show she emerged she began crying so happy she was part of this band ,,, i think she called that incident 1974

Donna does alot of Solo now, Last time I saw her was at Jerry Fest in Myrtle Beach SC in 2009, I was pretty impressed with her and her band was awsome she has a really soulful voice and was really cool to everybody at the small venue.

Everyone is awesome .. The crowd is hilarious...... I know everyone is over Donna. However, she did sing with the actual Grateful Fucking Dead for fucks sake. She is like helping these musicians to begin to even come close to what the Dead were are are. Its kind of hilarious, Kellar is the best of course, yet this band not even close to the dead, yet i love this video of course.......

Why do you feel Jerry hated Donna? When I started watching this video i was thinking, is this the same Donna that Grateful Dead made the album Terrapin Station with? So is it the same lady? Super cool if so!

She was an unnecessary mouth to feed on the road. Jerry ran a business and knew this. Dope gets expensive on the road.

Actually Donna was amazing, there seems to be this “Donna hating bandwagon” that people jump on....obviously they’ve never heard any 78 scarlet jams or any other amazing shit she has done...most people that say Donna “sucked” haven’t listened to much Dead.

@dkwyer10 жыл бұрын
middle part is called stronger than dirt - it was on dead versions from yeay such year til yeay such year and these other examples of times outside such time frame as any deadhead would already know.. yeesh! what kind of head are you??!!?!!
@sethclippard15276 жыл бұрын
That section is actually from King Solomon’s Marbles from Blues for Allah. This particular phrase that they’re playing with is brought out more in the interpretation Jazz Is Dead plays on the album Blue Light Rain (ala Jimmy Herring).

so you slam Furthur, and I assume DSO, yet you love Donna Jean? Her warbling is responsible for ruining many a good Dead tune throughout the 70's.

@1NickDelle1 I have respect for Keller, but not for Donna Jean, she really had no useful purpose in the Dead and just sorta spun in a circle and screamed
@detonator21125 жыл бұрын
Very well played, vocals suck big time. Awful, flat singing.
@marty.warner12 жыл бұрын
she ruined some ballin ass versions of songs, some of her shrieks were alright but she would sing out of key at the wrong moments of songs all the time
