2 of Alyssa Naeher’s huge saves were actually offside as well. Definitely miss Kelley tearing up the sidelines and destroying winger’s dreams of glory, but Emily Fox is a worthy successor. Somtimes you need a bit of luck to win the gold medal. The US defense was completely beaten in the Brazil goal. It is sheer luck that she was offside. It was not a off-side trap that worked. She was through and the defence was beaten.

Alyssa NAEHER was the Best Goalie in this Olympic and deserves an individual official acknowledgement for that. It's easy to explain why she's the best Goal Keeper. - She had 4 clean sheets in this Olympic Tournament (3 of them at Knock out state) - Only conceded 2 goals which is the least goals allowed by any keeper in this tournament - Without a doubt, if she wasn't the Goalie in this final, we would not have gotten the Gold I consider her right now also the Best Goal Keeper in the World Period. She may have the chance to get that acknowledgement at World Cup 2027.

Loved LL’s thoughts on the women’s basketball game. Also on the changes that need to be made for USA women to be able to get bball gold in 2028. Ms Leslie, you are treasured. Thank you. 💐 In a way, how great for USA women not to be dominant for gold in some Olympic sports now (and vice versa for other sport, eg women’s rugby). Emma Hayes deserves a lots of Credit in this Gold Medal. Just like in Basketball or Football or Baseball.... A Soccer Coach can be the most important Brick in building a Championship Team. She came to the job less than 4 month ago, and that is something. It's not as easy as 1,2,3 to win a Gold Medal in Soccer at the Olympics, but the World Cup is a lot harder.

England have a star goalie who saved a penalty in the World Cup final, who is battling to keep her place against a younger player, like how the younger players in US are taking over from the previous squad. I couldn't watch the USA women's basketball gold medal game live, so I heard we won but didn't know any details b/c I wanted to watch the replay. Seriously, if I had watched that game live, I would have been hospitalized. And that last shot by France's Gabby Williams was just so so close to being a three. I watched the USWNT Gold Medal match live and honestly, I felt more sad than anything b/c our team was so fatigued that nobody (other than Alyssa Naeher) played at top level. You have all the attention, playing on the world's stage, and everything beautiful about the game failed to be on display. I know Emma could have better used her bench, but I also understand why she didn't, so that is on her, but I think generally the format/schedule has to imrpove. The team already starts a few days or a day before opening ceremony - why not just start a week early and give them more rest between these matches? It would make the games so much more enjoyable to watch for sure and a lot less dangerous for the athletes. Kelley and Lisa - Its been a great ride and I have loved watching TGS over the last few weeks. I think your chemistry works really well and I hope to see you paired up on a JWS program soon.

Great sessions good mix. Lisa is always to perfection, ways se carries herself and speaks. 100% agree with her bb needs to practice more together before the games. WNBA may need to carve out more time given international players. As for soccer do we thinknNaehers still going to be around given age? and if not backplan?

3:10 CORRECT ! Most fans are of course opti-coders so they use Emotion more than Critical thinking.. Plus you're watching the game from afar, not like the Refs, and the players are super fast. Mallory Swanson might be the Fastest Soccer Player today on the Women's side. You will have difficulty catching her offside even with the VAR. There is a chance the number of steps she makes might be faster than the Camera's FPS The Camera (unless it's a Tennis Mac CAM) might not capture her in a frame. She's like a character from an X-Men.... FAST

2:44 - Offside in NFL Football is a fix point on the field, changed from play to play. - Offside in FIFA Soccer is a moving point which depends on the position of the last defender line or where the Ball is. The intent from Soccer Offside is the make the competition fairer, in the old days before the new offside rule, a forward can sit inside the opponents box and not return to help his team defend (Pele used to do this).. when the Brazilians win the ball back (or any team) they simply make a long pass to Pete (or whomever) and at some point most everybody thought there needs to be an imaginary offside line so that forward can not cross it before the pass is made. But, there is no offside in your own half. It's tricky rule that probably most everybody regret having but as long as it's called fairly against both teams, it alright. It does may the game compact and does give the defense a tool with which to hold the forwards from the other team to a level of fairness. The Ref calls on Saturday were all 100% fair. - US Goal is correct 100% - Brazil's disallowed Goal was offside by an 8th of an inch (which is ridiculous but that's the rule and the VAR proved it was offside) - There was no Penalty for Brazil as it was the Brazilian attacker who fouled Crystal Dunn Brazil missed many opportunities to score, because either they were offside or the uS defense was excellent or because NAEHER denied them. All was fare and square One team was highly motivated and that's the USWNT. Very SIMPLE!

Ranking Soccer players after the World Cup or the Olympics Normally it's done by both the Continental Federation (For us the CONCACAF) and also by FIFA This player ranking is extremely important to players, there are players around the world who play an entire career just to get rank high in the official ranking. Ranking Trophies: Golden Shoe Golden Foot Best Keeper Best defender Best all around Player It's useful for a National Soccer Federation to have a Player win one of these honors as it motivate the up comping generation, by basically setting the Standard for them.

Soccer Fans worldwide have Passion just like Basketball or Baseball Fans.. But, Soccer as a sport can gather tens of thousands of fans per game because the stadiums are larger (like NFL Football) and that's passible because there are 11 players on each team and the Ball and the Goal and the Field are large enough they can be seen from afar.. Soccer is an influential sport by numbers more than Baseball Basketball NFL Football etc.. The MLS is not at that level as well as the USWNT, but not yet the USMNT or the Women's Club League. They will all get there like the USWNT, hopefully in 2026 if it's a successful tournament The Host team must succeed otherwise you don't change the worldwide public opinion much

@@mikeevans4585 Not true. All football fans know how to read off-side. It is sometime confusing because it is so close. May be a player's toe sticks out. It is hard to decide in those situation and needs VAR. Most offsides are easy to spot.
