@Red Boah Sutherland the first one was about the length people go to maintain happiness, or the illusion of it. A lot of people don't understand that and think it was about you *must* be happy. Chef for example uses happiness to control her fellow Bergens, dangling Trolls in front of them as "look, you know that feeling of misery I can take away with this thing...?" And the problem with sadness if you can be trapped like Branch in a single event, think about it he never got over the idea that he was responsible for his grandma's death. But it wasn't his thought, it was Chef's fault for taking her and Branch kinda represents those hurt by the Bergens over time. Trollstice took away loved ones and likely left lots of broken hearted Trolls. Meanwhile Poppy has no idea what sadness is so when she finds it she basically gives up hope and the others follow suite. If you misinterpret something you miss kinda the darker parts of the first movie. One note I've always made is its likely the reason the Pop Trolls focus on being happy is that they had to keep living as every Trollstice they didn't know what was going to happen. It painted their entire lives.

YES this song and Branch's song were honestly my favorites... The message is beautiful and Branch seemed to understand it from the very beginning that it just wasn't their place to change anything. If they're sad, they're sad. And sometimes a sad song can help you express that and feel better. But most of the pop trolls just want pure happiness, and Branch seemed to be the only one to get that, that sometimes you're just not happy, and it's okay if you're not. Idk, the message in this movie is just really nice and the moment Branch said that, it was pretty clear tbh.
@ActuatedGear3 жыл бұрын
@@meraki4398 It just... it was a CHARACTER moment. Like... they wrote that for him to say because HE would say that because it something HE would feel and would tell Poppy then and there. It's so small a moment and yet it speaks VOLUMES about the built in complexity of his character. He's a person, not a... cardboard cutout. I wish... I wish that writers understood the power of moments like that, the value of less than 15 seconds of dialogue done right. EVERYONE remembers that friggin scene. Why? BECAUSE IT WAS REAL! IT WAS TRUE! It spoke something we all know and it was genuine. I need that stuff on an IV drip. THAT'S THE GOOD S%@#!

I don’t know why someone just said she started as a country pop singer. That is incorrect. She was always pop and pop rock. And even had her original inspiration to sing came from more R&B (huge Aretha fan - early efforts to get a record contract were lost because they thought she “sounded too black” 🤦🏻♀️). But she has done a couple country duets. She is from Texas, so she loves country music.
