I think when Tamara said brother to which her son said "half brother", he was very clearly voicing the difference in his life, which is fine because it gives some insight to the divide that likely exists. Thoughts, and especially words, become things and it's important to understand that words can convey much more than just their definition. I consider my best friend, while not blood related, to play much more of a sister role on my life than my biological sister. For others, their biological sibling is their best friend. For still others, a sibling could be in a parental role. Bottom line, for many, siblings sharing one parent doesn't reflect in any way on their bond, as such. For you, it may.
