A great version of a classic. Despite some recent claims that Kelly Jones actually wrote the song , he didn't. Written by Mike d'Ablo lead singer of Manfred Mann in 1967 before Kelly Jones was even born and recorded by Rod Stewart in 1969.

Mike D'abo wrote handbags and gladrags in '67 and on the "Rod Stewart Album" that came out in '69 D'abo plays the piano for the studio version. I agree, Kelly Jones is a great singer. But Rod Stewart is in a catagory of his own. find the Rod Stewart Album just about anywhere or just play the studio version on youtube. It's worth the listen. He will be 68 in january and still producing.
