They are like newborn puppies when their eyes finally open. Lol. I do wish parents would have their privileged children do volunteer work that allows their children to see what it really means to be impoverished and to struggle with no support/safety net. It should start at a young age, so the kids can have some appreciation for the luxuries that experience in their lives. And also so they can consider using their wealth and influence to affect change for people who are struggling. But that is just the social worker in me having wishful thinking

What a bunch of nasty, mean-spirited people on here. She's just joking about things lots of parents experience. Obviously, this is a loving family or the children wouldn't be sticking to the parents so much. It's clear they love their children, but at the same time, living with three young people is exhausting as you grow older, and some peace and quiet would be nice. That's all. I applaud them for not just supporting their son. It's a good lesson. I'm sure if he was in danger of being evicted or starving they'd help out, but they want him to learn he has to work for the good things and doing without for some things is good for him.

I have and he's paying for his own college education because I can't afford to. Kelly did not grow up in poverty. She came from a middle class family and yes, I agree, her kids seem decent, but let's face it, they'll never really struggle for anything. She made a stupid comment that just wasn't funny when she's now worth 100 million. I don't believe for one second that he's not using her Black Card to buy whatever his heart desires because he can. It's all an act and she just sounds ridiculous.

Kelly saying that her son is experiencing extreme poverty could be the truth.....maybe she and Mark want them to struggle the way they did before they became successful. They both didn't come from money and they want their children to learn the value of working hard to make their own money. It seems like they want their kids to become independent and not depend on Mommy and Daddy for anything.

What does she consider 'extreme poverty'?, not being able to tip the waiter at an upscale restaurant. Is she for freakin real???

People are so striggered. She may or not have lived in poverty herself but she probably didn't earn the money that she does now before she made it and the same with her husband Mark. I like the fact their letting them 'struggle' when they are leaving. They might help them out abit but that's what all parents do. People are so judgey these days.

Its all right to teach them the hard way, but this world just isn't the same for young people as it was when i was coming up. If I had their money I would pay for everything and a year after graduation to get it together . If they were employed and paying their bills. Me and dad would secretly put money aside for the next few years to help with a down-payment on their first house.

She said her son works, but I’m sure it isn’t at McDonalds. I think he works in movies and tv, so he doesn’t exactly make minimum wage.

I know a lot of y’all are pressed about what she says but I know rich kids who’s parents send em off to college and say “okay figure it out” and that’s it. just bc the parents are rich doesn’t mean they’re gonna share that with their kids past 18 every parent is different

These people are here for our entertainment. So you haters cant even do what they have done for themselves much less share your everyday living with humor and a smile. Most of you would be telling it from your bed... not dressed or bathed dirty dishes laying around more depressed and crying sharing your story. When I turn on my TV I would rather hear her version than you neg jealous haters . Roll over find the remote and watch something else. What an idea!!!

That's in no way poverty. Having to family you can go to at any point to help out if you need it is the opposite of poverty. Shows how spoiled these rich white kids are

I understand her point of wanting her son to grow up on his own and not be spoiled. But I find her and Mark not giving him money and letting him be poor is quite selfish and cruel. I'm not saying they should give him rent money for an apartment on Park Ave. But to have millions and millions of money, and not sharing it with your kids to help them a little or give them a little push is kind of cruel. It sounds as if she or Mark have resentment that they had to suffer in order to get where they are and feel that every single person has to suffer as well. Unfortunately, not everyone makes it in the acting business. Even Kelly herself didn't make it. She just became a socialite after failing as an actress. And her son is not making it right now, nor do we know if he ever will. I really hope he does, but the odds of making it are extremely low for EVERY single aspiring actor/actress. The point of having money is to do something good with it for yourself, and your family. And what's even more shitty is that she talks about it on national television, as if it was a hilarious thing.
