I cried listening to this song. I can feel her pain. I was in an abusive marriage. I hid the black eyes and swollen lips. My house was hell. My children jumped in front of many blows, to protect me from him.The pain is hard but the guilt I have is worst. Why I didnt leave sooner? The secrets and lies you tell to friend and family. Feeling embarrassed and frighten to leave. I respect her for making music like this.

AND RUN AND DRIVE TO YOUR NEW APARTMENT AWAY FROM HIM!!!!!! if he wanna see the kids he gonna have to go to court and make sure the kids dont tell him anything and sense he is abusive i dont think he can have them. we love u gurl, god bless u

Im sorry that happened to you but I applaud you for leaving. A lot of people (women specifically) stay in abusive relationships and that confuses me. The first time he hit you should've been the last time. if that was me he hit, he woulda came up missing
@jessicaaker175310 жыл бұрын
william haywood There are so many reasons why people can't leave or hatch out some plot to leave. Abusers isolate those they abuse, often making them financially dependent on them and without contact to family and friends. So if you have no money of your own and you don't even know if you can contact people to help you, then you are really stuck. Not to mention that people sometimes do try to leave and are caught and there is even more abuse.

So true. It's weird that some people tried to act like this was some type of shade towards Beyonce... Where at? This about the abuse she went through while "her sister" B, was there for her. Kelly stays classy, I hope she never goes through that type of abuse again.

I’m sure B knows it’s not personal. They’ve been so close for so long, a little envy between sisters is almost a requirement for a strong sisterly bond so long as it’s not toxic, which it doesn’t seem to be. I think her honesty about is respectable.

Kelly, That relationship was absolutley not from a loving God. God loves you!!!!!!!!!!! so so much. Know deep down inside that you deserve a better man. No man should say no one loves you, not your mama, not another man, not your family, not me. That alone is abuse! Just BELIEVE you are worth respect, unconditional love, adoration, affection, protection, encouragement, forgivness, provision, a man that loves the inside and outside of you..that wont physically intimidate, threaten, or constrain you. Someone who will pray with you and for you. Someone head over heels in love with you and your loved ones. Someone who wont lead you into danger or unsafe places. You did the right thing by bringing what was in the darkness to light. Now help from others who love you can come.

People miss the message of this song, she was being abused! Her life was nothing that she had imagined, in comparison to her former group member. It was not jealousy, it was confusion as to "How could this be my life? Why me?" Yet proud of all of Bey's accomplishments. Too, she is raising awareness that physical/emotional abuse happens to even ppl of her stature. Don't get it twisted just because your hear Beyonce's name.

They just want to lick Beyoncé's ass and try to make it appear like other singers are Beyonce's enemies. I think people understand that the song is about Kelly being abused by an ex, but they just try to twist things to make her look bad for the benefit of their so called queen Beyawncy.

This snong brought back some deep emotions for me. Back in 2012 I found myself in an abusive relationship which resulted in multiple bruises, busted lip, sprung ankle, cranked rib, and wore is hand print around my neck for a week. I miscarried what would have been my first born child due to him. It takes alot of courage to stand up, say enough is enough, leave and be able to talk about such an experience. Respect and admiration goes out to Kelly for this song and sharing it. & to any woman who found themselves under an abusive hand and got out.

When she says, "I swear y'all don't know the half about this industry," I believe she was basically exposing everything that her "handlers" did to her. This song is so real; I can sense the pain in her spirit. I have a new found respect for Kelly because of this song.

I can really relate to this song, I was in a very abusive relationship with a woman who was nine years older than I was. When we met I was only a baby at 20 years old & she was 29 with four kids. I was in a very dark place at the time, and battling with a lot of demons, and most of all trying to find myself. This woman would abuse me verbally, mentally and physically. I allowed her to turn me against my family. She made me feel as no one loved or cared about me. Those who are abusers, are people who are cowards, I can remember fathers day June 15, 2003 her & I got into a really bad argument that lead to her hitting me in the back of my head and I finally hit her back, but I believe that no man should put his hands on a woman. I called the cops & I went to jail for the night and I ended up with a class A Misdemeanor on my record. My dreams of one day joining the U.S. Navy was shattered, due to this. The worst thing about it is that I went back to her in 2005. I heard a song by Mary J. Blige in 2007 which is called Enough Crying. I never thought I would leave this woman until I heard this song. It was my escape goat. This song let me know that I do not have to take the abuse that I was receiving, but most of all it let me know that I can live and move on with my life without this abuse person. It was time to say good bye and do something for me, I had to be out my mind to think that I needed someone to carry me. Now I am with a woman who cares & love me unconditionally which is my wife of five years. I thank God for great music that is uplifting and that will help others out you never know what someone is going through. Male or Female.
