Instant classic! I like how that Fela "sample sound" takes us all the way back to afrobeat's origins. This is one of the most unique tracks (production wise) that I've heard (of its kind) in a while. This type of beat could inspire a whole new sub genre 🤞! I hope it introduces a new generation to Fela, as well as other original creators who pioneered afrobeat from its roots to it's current manifestations. Hopefully, international collabs & cross cultural "pollination" like this will become the new normal.

This is a most stunning capture of the soul of Afrobeat. I heard the song on Nigerian radio just now and told myself it just got released. I mean, how could such a beauty be so little watched, little known? What can we do to make it 'blow', please? A second release? A better marketing push especially in Africa? Ideas please. Simple. Ms Rowland made a mistake by not featuring a Nigerian artiste on this track. Yes, there was this hook from a Fela's song. But this song would have made a bigger hit if she featured, say Davido or Burna Boy. A remix of this song with any of those artistes isn't late though. It was pure, unadulterated afrobeat that if you listen to the instrumental, you'd think it was Fela, and nothing more.
