If she could only continue to avoid the vocal fry. It creeps in at the end of every sentence😬
@MADEbySOUL3 күн бұрын
As a person who also doesn’t like vocal fry, I began wondering if my dislike of it was not healthy for myself. For example, I would not do the same for an accent or way of speaking from other parts of the country. I would not allow how they said a message to judge the quality of message itself. So I started to wonder if my dislike of vocal fry was due to being conditioned to believe it was a sign of privilege and lack of intelligence.
@LindaC6163 күн бұрын
@MADEbySOUL No, it's not necessarily that. There are linguistic explanations as to why it grates on people's ears. One cannot help one's accent. Vocal fry is affected speech. I've seen people who use uptalk and vocal fry at work, of course it's mostly women, who use it to manipulate others. They can turn it on and off whenever they want to.

@mchavt3 күн бұрын
@@CP-pk3zg not what I said, but in French we use it a lot to emphasize on hesitation or disapproval (if you speak to a French person, they will most likely say "eeeuh" at some point). Regardless of her motivations to use it, she's not going to stop that's what I'm saying.
