It's a partly Australian production, Australian author, Australian actors, novel set in Australia. Local Subsidies and to fulfill local content regulations on streaming services. Why do they film entertainment where you are from? Bit insulting, Australian and in particular the Gold Coast have a very well established film industry, From Star Wars to Marvel to Elvis, a very long list.

​@@jaxr2958It's interesting because the book takes place in Australia and they shot it there, but the show takes place in Florida. Whereas Liane Moriarty's other book Big Little Lies also takes place in Australia but the show takes place in California where they shot it.
