I'm a hack guitarist but it brings me great joy. I'm self-taught which is why I'm a hack. There are very few teachers that I seem to click with. I'm grateful I found your channel. It's made a difference. Thank you and keep it up.

I’m 5 years in learning guitar. I’m 63 now. This was my first faster, more complicated song requiring me to relax and play with confidence. It has been shelved for a couple of years and I am now going to take a deep dive and relearn this. I am looking forward to this now I have more skill. Thanks Kelly Dean

Great song, love your videos and your dedication to teaching. I had the good luck to go backstage before a Tull concert. While Ian and the rest of the band were eating dinner, Martin was sitting off by himself just wailing on some blues licks. A very memorable moment. Thanks for all you do!

Kelly, when i have an afternoon, im going to sit down with this lesson and my guitar and really get into learning this. Thank you so much. Also, when i heard you play it, it sounded so freakin great! Awesome!

here’s the thing. ever since the introduction of pencil and paper, repetition is less important than accuracy. take your time, eliminate some repetition, make fewer mistakes, and you’ll save time on the final production by not hurrying. having said that, i love your dedication to accuracy, eventually. i think the only guitar teacher on youtube who just doesn’t stumble is david brewster. i believe that man lives inside a guitar neck and only pokes his head out on february 2nd.

The Aqualung riff is without question one of the top-five guitar riffs of all time. Much of it's brilliance is in how truly odd it is. It kinda reminds me of the Godzilla riff by Blue Öyster Cult, in that it's somewhat counterintuitive (Black Dog, The Ocean, and The Rover by Led Zeppelin are a few other examples among many) -- Blues-based, yet curious.

This epic has a solo that should never be played half ass. Martin Barre played the chord changes perfectly and anything less than that wouldn’t be ear pleasing. I read that while he was playing this take, Jimmy Page walked into the control room and started waving at him, trying to get him to wave back. He just smiled at him and kept playing.

Thanks Mark! I'm my own worst critic and I'm always second guessing whether I suck at this or not, haha. Good to hear some positive feedback. Appreciate it.

Stellar job, my friend! (Although it would be helpful if you were to explain the underlying chords during the solo.)
