I’ve been using the VT PDRN essence for about two months. I lean dry, but it’s enough to be the only moisturizing product I need under my SPF. My only complaint is that product leaks up around the edges of the pump when it’s dispensed, even with holding the bottle horizontally.

If you want to streamline your routine with ginseng you could definitely replace other products with the VT PDRN essence, it has a good concentration of ginseng!

I wonder how much of those effects come to pdrn and how much is wild ginseng. I’m interested in pdrn products from other brands (Medicube serum because of its combination with peptides and Genabelle toner to be specific) and I wonder if I can get similar results with them.

Being PDRN extracted from ginseng absolutely makes the difference in my mind. I've reviewed the other products mentioned and they are nice but I personally saw best results with VT (this is a non sponsored thought). My skin has always done well with ginseng but these products take those benefits up a notch ime. The only thing I'd add is I haven't focused on a really concentrated salmon PDRN product in my testing so I'm not sure how the vegan version compares.

It helps a lot with retaining moisture in the skin and thank to that my biggest concern - enlarged pores isn't much of an issue as with face hydrated for the whole day they're not as visible anymore.

I love this! I got the hydrogel masks for Christmas, now I’m intrigued by the essence! Still a little intimidated by the reedle shot, but maybe I could try it after my skin is fully acclimated to my adapalene. I am sooo wary of exfoliation.

Always tread carefully with reedles (I had a bad experience when using tret) but sounds like you are and sometimes the best things happen when we are open to experimenting smartly!

@ Good to know! I heard “intensify skincare” and immediately thought to stay away from using most (all?) actives with it. I think I would be more of a once per week user, but it’s also good to know that you still see results at that frequency, so it’s still worth trying!

PDRN and copper peptides work great together! Medicube’s rose pink PDRN ampoule also has copper peptides in it (which I just finished a bottle of) and I’ve also used copper peptides with different brands of PDRN serums with great results (like Qure’s microneedling kit + VT PDRN ampoule is *chefs kiss* 😚👌🏽)

Sounds like something i’d bring up to my derm and i swear they’d say something like “wtf is that, i don’t recommend spending time/money on that. sounds irritating and gimmicky. i haven’t seen any research that it does anything more than things we know like actual microneedling, retinoids etc”

I saw a video by DrDray (she tends to be critical) and some toxicologist (I forgot the name) about the spicules. Both warned that these spicules don't dissolve. Everyone claims, that the spicules don't penetrate deep and get shed with the skin cycle. But both said there is no guaranty that some will not stick and wander into deeper skin layers. We've all had weird splinters, haven't we? The skin tends to encapsulate foreign objects which can cause bumps under the skin that are difficult to treat. This process can take many years (up to six years, apparently). There is no way that these products have been tested long enough to test for this kind of long term side effect. So, I decided to stay clear of these spicules. And honestly, I've only had one popular VT product before. It was the essence sun pact cushion and I was not impressed. These spf cushions are pretty useless and the claims about their effectiveness is highly misleading.

I chose mild reedle shot and PDRN essence for under my eyes (I am 50 ;-). I used it once a week and it works alonside my medik8 retinal, no issues.

Do you have any more recommendations for vegan PDRN please? I'm allergic to seafood and my medical team has advised against trying traditional PDRN. I heard the Medicube pink PDRN serum is vegan but I haven't been able to verify that. I ADORE the VT PDRN Essence and have just bought the PDRN Reedle Shot 100 to try, on your recommendation, so excited!

I think we'll see more PDRN coming out this year, especially vegan versions, but I don't think they will all perform the same.

Maybe try a little mist or watery toner underneath if you haven't already, I find that helps a lot!

When you say, "it dries me out" does that mean the mask dries out more quickly than you'd like; your skin gets dried out while the mask is on; or that your skin itself dries out after removing the mask? If the last one, the mask might have hyaluronic acid in it, in which case, if the humidity is less than 40% or so, the HLA is sucking the moisture OUT of your skin.

Good morning! ☀️☀️ I have tried the VT PDRN Reedle Shot 100 and want to keep using as part of my well aging routine. After the first time I tried it, I got a red spot on each cheek about a day after use. They went away after a few days. The next time I got the red spot only on my left cheek and it also seemed like I had a spot on my nose. It has been over a week and I still have the red spot on my cheek. I think it is starting to fade and clear up. I patted it in gently and didn’t really feel any tingling or stinging. Is this a common reaction with the Reedle for beginners with sensitive skin? I want to purchase the essence, but I’d like to finish using the Reedle Shot but without spotted cheeks. 🥰🥰🥰

Not sure what you mean by red spot, is it a broken blood vessel, pimple, or inflammation from irritation? If it's irritation I would not advise continuing with the product. You might want to try just the PDRN essence without the reedle as it's much gentler.

@ Thank you Kelly. The spots are more like little sensitive skin irritations-about dime sized. They eventually get a little dry and flaky as they start going away. They are probably a reaction. 😩😩 I probably will have to switch to the essence. Have a great day!
