TLDL: - I love AMC nachos - You don't need a $4000 Mac to edit. Just buy a $50 hard drive and stay frugal when starting your channel. Look how far I've come without all the bells and whistles! - I'm grappling with moving to LA or NYC to stay "connected" and "relevant" but I like pursuing a career in a normal place. It's wholesome and I feel 0 pressure to be anyone I'm not. - The tea was hot in 2020 and I'm not afraid to speak my mind. - I remember to water my plants nowadays

To your 3rd point, I’d say both of your concerns are valid. I am currently trying to grow my channel from Virginia Beach (where i work as a naval officer) so i often feel as though I’m not connected with other creators because no one is out here 😂 So my question to you is: how do you overcome not being connected while living in a normal area when starting a channel? 100% agree. Also every view you have doesn't always have to be public. I love horror movies and dramas, but I also like comedies. This channel is like my comedy. And also, people who are all Veruca Salt about success you're having need to take a few deep breaths. There are many folks in the world that try everyday and may never see material manifestations of success. But occasionally, you do. The Veruca Saltism is just immaturity.

I get that it can be overwhelming (I 100% believe that all Black people don't have to speak on issues ALL the time & we shouldn't be guilt tripped into doing so. we're already experiencing/living it.) BUT speaking on those issues will never be "played out". Black people speaking up is how we're able to - & have the rights/freedoms to - live the lives we want. like, for example, how Kelly(& other Black ppl/poc) have *access* to traveling/living in all these places w/o being in too much fear for their lives. (even our past activists & revolutionaries have emphasized how joy & rest are important & how Black people, especially Black women, living their best life, how they want, is an important/significant act in & of itself. not everyone is the same. some speak up all the time & some less but it will never be played out.)

Regarding your poll at the end of the video: I don't live in the US and don't ever plan on it, so I don't care much about LA and NYC or whatever. I find a lot of that content is about spending tons of money on bougie stuff no one needs. (not that yours was ever like this, but I just mean you're hella interesting wherever you are so it doesn't matter to me)The content I find most inspiring and enjoyable are videos from creators that are BALANCED. As in, yes show me the aspirational dream girl I strive to become, but also talk openly about your struggles, mental health, and especially the journey of how you got where you are. I like to learn and be entertained and feel a little jealous of your lifestyle all in one. Whether it's about doing KZbin full time, or someone who also has a day job, that's what I enjoy the most, is stuff that inspires and educates me.

I never subscribed to Kelly because she’s black, but rather because her videos are entertaining, relatable, and her sense of humor is appealing. @@kelechiii_ didn't know people needed to show their black card for a nonffensive or non controversial option. Jeez Respesentation in media is enough, there were hardly any large black creators back when I was a kid. Even Vine Era it's was King Bac and others basically being a minstrel for clout and AAVE being used by non AAP solely to be funny or edgy. Being yourself having thay representation is enough. There shouldn't be some pressure to condom or to what anyone think a black person should be. Black card can't be revoked and we should just let a person just *exist*

For the poll, I think you should do what makes you happy, a city doesn’t make a good content creator, there’s so many content creators who live in nyc & la but you are so much bigger than them & more entertaining. This is just an idea, if you do want to move back to nyc, you could live in New Jersey and do aviation school there and occasionally visit nyc. Plus you’d have the best of both world, cheaper living (than nyc) in New Jersey and seeing your pilot journey & content creator stuff in nyc.

@@KellyStamps ATP has two schools in Jersey. One is at the Trenton airport which is about an hour from the city, but only about 10 minutes away from Princeton University which is the #1 ranked school in the country ahead of Harvard and Yale. And there's another one at the Morristown airport that's only about a half hour away from the city. Jersey makes the most sense. I love watching the evolution of your channel. You have exploded in growth while dealing with the loss of your dad and grandma, so it's a testament to your persistence and committed dedication to move forward in your life and enjoy and savor the harvest of what you have sown for yourself, even when it's bittersweet. To answer your poll, visit NYC, Boston, LA and such a few times a year for a boost to your creative umph and easy vlogging content. You already enjoy traveling, so you can see it as a chance to get your Eataly fix. Depending on travel restrictions, you can start planning to travel to Europe (Paris, Rome, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, etc.) and Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, etc.) and even Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Hobart for a visit to Tasmania, etc.). It would be amazing to watch your travel vlogs from there as you imbue them with your storytelling. Videos visiting your family members across the US may also do well.

I think it’s amazing how many people are coming into your life as you and your channel grow, and with that I can imagine how much advice, opinions, etc. is coming your way, too. If there’s *anyone* who could figure out how to get New York views being in Florida or even from the side of the road in the middle of nowhere or in sandbox, it is *you* ! I watch your videos because I like you as a creator and as a person. It's true that more "appealing" cities attract more viewers but as long as you can find balance in the type of content you're making I think you'll be making the right choices for how you want your life to be and which direction to take (both metaphorically and literally lol). You're doing great so keep going! Btw, Another tip if your pc is lagging when you're editing is converting your files into proxy (BEFORE starting editing): it will run faster because proxy files are less heavy and once you're done with your editing you can just save your video with the resolution you want. (btw proxy files are not exclusive to final cut pro x, it's also premiere and I believe every other editing software)

The channels that I always come back to are usually the ones that are creators that have jobs outside of being content creators, but sometimes it gets boring when all of their content is centered around their job. I have never been able to hop onto the more gimmicky NYC and LA creator train for any sustained amount of time because it sometimes just feels like watching zoo animals. However, I like that as a full-time content creator you have more flexibility to provide us with a lot of spontaneity in your content. This channel and Micarah Tewers' channel are some of my favorites because y'all are able to be entertaining in whatever environment y'all are in, but you do sometimes take us along on field trips. I hope that there is a niche for content creators that live more practically on a day-to-day basis but still enjoy mixing things up now and again.

Kelly! I just wanted to say thank you. It's nice to see you grow this much in over a year. Your content was a huge comfort and motivation to me. I think you impressed...inception-ized??? the idea of starting a KZbin channel to me, I'm so glad I clicked that video of yours when KZbin slid it on my recommendations. I may not be the usual content creator with vlogs and stuff since I ended up with a different niche to focus on, but I really held on to your lessons at Stamp University. This vlog just made me even more excited. I didn't know how fun it is -- but also a tad stressful -- to build up the channel, create assets, think up of ideas on what to do next etc. I'm really enjoying myself, and rediscovering some things I thought I no longer enjoy. It's really nice. Thank you and as for the poll, I'm all for taking it easy. I think seeing you become a pilot will be more interesting, and in that regard location won't matter as much. But for answering sake, I prefer the latter option.

the internet is oversaturated, everyone is trying hard to show that they live a glam life, everything is so curated. I would love to see content on more slow paced life instead. the city life is a little bit too overwhelming for me, even coping with my own life is already exhausting!

That's so true. It's not sustainable to be doing so much all the time. Hence the burnout, that's why at some point a lot of people just break and can't keep up with the pace they set for themselves (or society did). I left that rat race behind!

I am thankful for your videos because of the transparent stuff. I hate when youtubers who are successful hide their stuff because I genuinely wanna know cause I wanna be a successful youtuber and don’t know what I’m aiming for if there is no one giving answers so I’m grateful even though you didn’t have too thank you for doing it cause now I see what the “goals “ are to aim for cause I know you can make a living but how much is that and what does analytics look like to YALL cause for people like me, who is stuck at a small subscriber count- youtube Analytics don’t show me that stuff so that was cool to see. Also your personality is so simple and relatable love it keep doing you and these vlogs

By 'growth' do you mean appeasing others? because that's what KZbin growth is, and frankly you are doing JUST FINE!! Stay in Florida, travel as you please, subscribers and views will follow you because you are genuine in your content; you are literally on the rise and I say this because I found this channel organically so I subbed. You don't have to do the most and tap dance.

Daaaaang, reading the comments I understand why everyone is over the city life vlogging and KZbinrs bui I feel that’s because you’re mostly watching people who move to LA and NYC and not those who were born and raised there. I’m a Harlemnite. Born and Raised in Harlem, NY and living in NYC. That’s what my content is based around. My weekly vlogs highlight my experiences in Harlem, The Black Owned businesses I frequent and the things my friends and I do being from New York. I started my channel because of Kelly and ALSO because I was tired of watching people show one side of New York…there’s so much more to my city that nobody is talking about

You get interrogated by angry, directionless people (who really don't have much to be angry about, imo) to be a social justice warrior, but instead you choose to be YOURSELF which at the end of the day is way more valuable and, frankly, commendable. So many people, myself included, are just happy to find someone who is relatable, entertaining and unrelenting in their unique pursuits. I'm so glad you refuse to let people put you in a box. You're doing the kind of work that has a greater impact, in the black community especially, and hopefully forces people to step out the echo chamber and into reality. You truly are a gem.

Hi Kelly Stamps 👋🏽! To answer your question: I’m not tired of seeing creators based in LA or NYC per-say, but it does get old. I do love the fact that you showcase the “unconventional” cities. To me, it shows there’s more to life than LA and NY(this coming from someone from LA and who has worked in NY). There’s beauty and uniqueness everywhere, you just have to go and explore - and I feel like some of your videos advocate for that! So I am down to see you in any city. Love your channel btw ☺️ looking forward to your En Route collab!

I would honestly watch your content wherever you filmed/lived, for me its more about you as an entertainer/philosopher. That being said, I currently live in NYC and have lived in most of the "hot" cities in America so its cool to see you vlog in other places that aren't on the radar.( ND and BAMA were personal faves) I also enjoy the NYC content cause i like to see how other people in NYC experience living here. There are literally millions of different worlds in NYC, its wild. Plus, i can luck up and find a new club/restaurant that i haven't been to.

I guess you could say I like both? It’s is more relatable to see people with “real” jobs lives. Because there are more people who go to a job or have a “real” job than there are creators and that’s more relatable. However, I do like seeing the LA/NYC style vlogs more so for entertainment and just seeing what it’s like to be comfortable and have a great life. Hope this all made sense.

I like seeing you in different places because I love travel content. As someone who's lived in Florida for some time it's not surprising that views are low there, it's a slower paced lifestyle. I live in London now, and I get super motivated when I travel to Central London (it's the NYC of Europe) but I live in a quieter, kind of posh Borough where it's not as condensed but still super interesting. Maybe that's something to think about, living in an area that isn't overwhelming but still close to a place that motivates you.

Speaking completely selfishly, as a south Floridian who is so bored here, I enjoy watching you make the most out of Florida and seeing things through fresh eyes. But I also really enjoy the travel videos esp to NYC since I grew up there. What I'm most looking forward to is the overseas travels you keep hinting to, so if you laying low and living in FL to pursue aviation will help you bring some bomb lavish overseas South Korea/Japan travel videos down the line I'm hype for that!! A good middle ground is the NJ sentiment I'm seeing in the comments, even though driving in NJ is pretty inSANE lol. But they got trains into NY so you should be gud.

I’ll watch you wherever you go and still be entertained. I can’t lie and say I don’t prefer the NYC videos but I think it’s because of how much we romanticized New York and LA also how much there is packed into those cities that we flock to content in those areas. I say it’s possible to be normal in those areas and I can honestly see you doing something like screenwriting or acting, if you full send I know you’ll go far!Hope you follow your heart!
