@ It really is an issue, it was pretty exposed against the Sun in the playoffs. If we played any good defense in that backcourt, the Fever would've forced a Game 3. I haven't really heard about Mitchell overseas like I've heard with Smith and Berger. Normally overseas, they're more team oriented. We'll see when she comes back this season, but I'm holding my breath, she's too old to change her habits. With Clark being so young, we should've replaced her, but maybe the plan is to ride it out with Mitchell for one last season and start to replace her the following season when everybody's set to become a free agent with the new CBA.

The onlyway the trade happens is if the sparks are willing to trade the second pick or give up brink or jackson. Both would be a unbelievably stupid move by the sparks. I like kp but she is not worth a young asset for what could potentially be a 1 year deal. Also the acquisition of kp does not make the sparks a contender, they are better off keeping the 2nd pick and drafting Olivia miles and allowing her and brink, Jackson to develop.

But being serious, I would expect them to trade Lexie Brown in this package since they're drafting a guard anyway. They resigning Aari anyway, so they'll likely move Lexie since her contribution was pretty low last year. I get she's LA vibes and such, but Burrel was the way better player and at 120k contract is very friendly. Seattle has only 6 players on their roster, so they'll need guard depth once they ship off Jewell. They have plenty of forwards with Horston, Nneka (who likely resigns) and Gabby. Nika Muhl is out for the season, so they'll need to replace the guard depth somehow. I figure Lexie Brown is their primary target. Aces won't really care that much with this roster, as they'll likely just find suitable pieces for minimum wage given that they're the "best" organization in terms of team practice facilities and they keep getting players like TIP out of retirement anyway. I would likely expect them to grab Jewell for it. LA needs guard depth, and it makes sense for them to go that direction; meanwhile, Lexie Brown would likely be involved in the trade to Seattle as they need her more so than adding a player like Burrell at 120k compared to Lexie's lower 80k range.

Depending on what Nneka asks for, the salary ranges are pretty crazy for Seattle again this year: 190 for Ezi 250k for Gabby Skylar for 215k Nneka is probably around 200k as well. Nika is likely an injury contract. Horston is the cheapest rookie option that's got value for them. They would definitely want guards + maybe a pick to get a rookie player (even though the team doesn't use rookies anyway) as they need cheap contracts to even fill out a roster next year, unlike this year. I really don't think they want Rae in this deal, as Rae is pretty expensive for their already blogged up Forward position.

@@PredatorKingdom Mitchell played differently after the Olympic break than before. She and Clark figured out how to partner. If Mitchell didn't have an open look, she'd pass to Clark and then cut to get open. Clark would pass to her once she was open so she could catch and shoot. Mitchell was also passing after the break to Aliyah Boston and others. You can see the increase in her assists in late-season games as compared to early season. However, the assist count doesn't tell the whole story because sometimes the person she passed to either missed the shot or passed it on to someone else.

@ Some of y'all always say this and I never saw it. If I did then I wouldn't still be bringing it up. It's still a real problem for the team that she doesn't move the ball around and likely never will because she's an older player who's too set in her ways. The only person she passed to was Boston and that was like 2 times a game. Her assists numbers were a joke for a guard. Clark was still leading the league in unassisted points. I saw Clark open way too many times after the Olympic Break and she got frozen out. Clark had a lot of high scoring games, there's no excuses why her assists totals were as low as they were. Then on top of it her defense was just sad which is the bigger issue for me. You're not winning any chips with this backcourt not playing any defense. Mitchell looked so bad in the playoffs too, probably would've been a game 3 if Plum or Cunningham was in that backcourt.
