Right before watching this, my husband and I cleaned drywall dust from our master bathroom remodel. I love the new drywall but I hate the mess! Tomorrow we start priming and painting! Great idea opening up the stairs! It really does make the rooms flow together.

Love these videos, this will help me with the same project. Had a question around what tool were you using for creating the hole to plug and what do you use to create the plug itself? When I watched the handrail install you had a similar one but smaller version. Something I can buy for my drill? In short, how you are making the hole and the plug. Thank you in advance! Going to follow your install step by step, was feeling intimidated but this helps 100%

I find it interesting what is considered normal in different places where people live. The walls here in Texas are much more textured in general than the walls where I used to live in Louisiana.

When you are doing this type of project how much do you plan ahead (do you put together a list of steps) or do you “wing it” and figure it out as you go?
@KelseyRomitoDIY
@KelseyRomitoDIY 2 жыл бұрын
A little bit of both. Because I am renovating my entire house and need to keep budget in mind, I always do a rough plan and research cost of materials. For example, with this project I calculated costs of new stair rail and balusters and stair treads, etc. Then I usually make a list in my phone of the steps of the project. For example, demo pony wall, rebuild knee wall, add newel posts, rails, etc I don’t always plan ahead on specific details like stain/paint colors, size of trim, stuff like that. I know I can make those design decisions when the project starts taking shape a little more. Hope this helps!
@stephaniemattson9322
@stephaniemattson9322 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you… the planning ahead is my issue… I get a big idea in my head and dive right in which usually makes the project that much harder and longer. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@@KelseyRomitoDIY when we moved into our current house a couple of years ago. I ripped carpet off the two walls in my son's room. And ripped out the moldy drywall.
