I loved this movie when I was younger. It was on the same tape as the Cricket in times square. I'm so glad that someone posted this!

A memory of this cartoon wandered into my mind last night; I'd completely forgotten about it. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with memories of this precious film.

Thanks so much for posting this video. Like others on here, this was one of my favorite Christmas specials when I was a kid. To this day, I especially love the opening song, it chokes me up a bit to hear it. Thanks again for finding such a great show!

OH. MY. GOODNESS!! THANK you for posting this! You would not believe how long I've been looking for this movie. I got it for Christmas when I was 3 years old (I'm 21 now), and as I had just figured out how to work the VCR player at the time, I ejected it and lost it. I was beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination... but IT'S NOT!!

That's very cool. I didn't realize the cartoon was based on a book, but I just looked it up. I hope your dad would have liked the animated version of his work, as I'm sure you do. It helped create some great Christmas memories for us kids of the 80s, so you two should be proud.

This brings back so many memories. You wouldn't happen to remember a movie made by the same people (I'm pretty sure it was) about a christmas cricket in NYC who is taken in by two animals (I think cats) and he plays music with his wings?
