His documentary on Country music changed my perspective on the genre and he always kept it interesting with how he’d glue everything together. Truly one of a kind filmmaker

I was surprised that I enjoyed it too, and I don't really listen to country music.

Late night talk shows are 100% political now. Conan, Letterman, Carson even Kilborn. Miss simpler times

Ken Burns kind of looks like Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek and voice of David Xanatos from the cartoon series in the 90s "Gargoyles".

This is a guy that not a lot of people know about, but every big film maker sees as a equal peer, even if their films make hundreds of times the $.

That method off fluffing and stretching documentaries plagued science shows long before Ken Burns did it

I've heard mixed things on his vietnam series, alas I haven't seen it to have an opinion. Either way, he is a master at his craft and has created many great works. Need to watch his baseball series soon.

Wait, people actually do that? Abstain from forming an opinion on something they've never seen? What kind of parallel universe internet is this?

He's a bit full of himself now (not all social media and the web is bad if used constructively) but The Civil War, Jazz, Baseball, Teddy Roosevelt and Hemingway are timeless great docs (The parks one got a little samey).
