Is there anybody else who can't understand why this handsome, talented, personable man didn't became a star in his own right?
@helenweedon77163 жыл бұрын
Maybe because he was a modest man who considered himself to be just doing his job. He certainly never "blew his own trumpet" and seemed to be happy just as he was. He didn't mix very much with the Hollywood set, preferring to be at home with his family and enjoying the company of his "ordinary" friends around the area. He was generous with his time and gave it readily for fund-raisers and his greatest reward was making people smile and laugh, and be happy. He preferred to be a character actor than a star, but maybe this worked against him in a way, because he could disguise his face and voice effectively so people didn't recognise him from one role to the next. There is no doubt that he should be far better remembered today, and recognised by new generations as someone to admire and look up to. There can't have been many people in Hollywood who nobody had a bad word to say about them.

Appeared on all sorts of TV shows as a guest. He had a another tv show called The Yellow Rose after Gunsmoke. Did other tv shows like an appearance on Airwolf, The Heat Of the Night,Code Red. He was a great , great, singer, and actor. Saw @ heard him perform at the Western Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton, Alberta, early seventies. What a bueatiful voice he had. Even when I hear his voice in song to this day it still raise's goose bumps. In The Alamo, with Wayne, he plays Captain Dickinson, Col Travis's exc. Officer . In the uncut version he and his co star, I think it was either Joan or Jane O'Brien. They sing a bueatiful bedtime lullaby duet too Asa Wayne in honor of her Birthday. That scene brings tears every time. RIP Ken Curtis you were a true Son OF The, American West. as the song goes, Keep Rolling w/the Tumbling,Tumbling, Tumble Weeds. God Bless. 🎶🎼🎙️🎶🎼🎙️🎶🎙️🎼📣📣📯📺📽️🔫🔫
