Maybe the guy could have tried working out in the offseason... And don't give this it's bc other guys did steroids it magically made him get hurt and have one solid year after age 30....Griffey caught some bad breaks with the injuries, but he also didn't work out enough in the offseason.

I was there for the one in 1994. Unfortunately, that was the last game of the 1994 season. The strike ruined his chance at passing Roger Maris naturally. It was also nice to see the Oakland Coliseum pre Mount Davis.

There's not a ball player in my lifetime that I miss watching as much as Griffey Jr. I was lucky to be able to see him from 20 rows back at Fenway as a kid. He hit an opposite field shot into the net over the monster that game, and a triple. I think he just missed the cycle that day.

I'm a Cardinals fan but when I saw him hit his 500th homer against the Cards, I couldn't help but cheer. I feel fortunate to have grown up watching him play and he's one of my all time favorites. We'll never see a more beautiful swing than Griffey's.

Griffey, Jr. did have an incredibly impressive swing. I saw him swing that bat so freakin' fast on a home run, that if you blinked, you woulda missed it. And that ball went at least 500 feet. It was totally freakin' awesome!

Wife & I were in Seattle for a short holiday and the Kingdome was a short ride away.. Lets see a game. "3rd Inning: Bases Loaded: Griffey is in the one deck circle. Mike Felder, the batter ahead of him hits a single.. Run scores.. Griffey took a (A 1 - 1 count ) DEEP CF for a Grand Slam for his 7th consecutive game in a row" Next day he tied the record and had it not been for the stupid configuration to the centre field set up with the retractable NFL seating, he would have had 9 consecutive games on the 30th..
