Such an amazing collection Brian!!! Wow, look at all of that shine! You’re right, that Holoview looks like it was made for an auto and that’s such a cool card!

I appreciate your kind words! When I saw that Holoview auto show up on eBay, I knew I had to go after it - I’d never seen anything like it before! Griffey had some pack pulled autos on hologram die cuts from SPx in the 90s, but those are all $1k+ cards. The slabbed holoview auto was a tiny fraction of that cost. Thanks for watching, Joe!

It warms my heart every time I look through them! So many of these cards like the 92 Elite and the 95 refractors were massive dream cards that kid-me would never have believed I would ever own someday! But this hobby finds ways of making dreams come true! Thanks for watching, Adam!

Great showcase Brian 👏 Those 90’s refractors, dufex stunners, and tight autos brought down the house! It was awesome to see the whole Griffey collection all at once - very well curated IMO. I’ve never seen that Mosaic before 🔥 sweet card. And I agree with moving on the RC auto - with how many signings he’s still doing, those have really become commoditized and a little TOO plentiful. The OTHER two Griffey autos you have are WAY cooler and more unique. It’s never iffy, if it’s Griffey!

Yeah, that Power Alley shine is amazing! At the National, I was struck by how many slabbed rookie autos were there and available for Griffey. It seemed that the supply was outpacing the demand, so I’m ok moving it along. Also, if I decide later on that I really want one, I shouldn’t have a tough time finding and acquiring another. Thanks for watching, Al!

Great cards Brian! I knew Griffey carried a premium, but when you brought up the 95 finest refractor prices, I was blown away. Now I see why Griffey collectors who venture out and purchase Maddux cards for $400 call it 'inexpensive'

Oh, it’s ABSURD! He’s the highest of the Pareto Players and routinely commands 10x what Maddux does. I may do a video about this topic on the future because it’s a fascinating phenomenon. You look at guys who put up similar yearly and career numbers - guys like Palmiero, Sheffield, Walker, even Thome - Griffey commands closer to 20x their prices. Thanks for watching, Allen!

Great video!! Hey maybe make a second Griffey vid with some more! DO you have the Griffey '97 Score Reserve Collection? It has the foil Starburst pattern and there's two Griffeys from the series 2 set that look incredible!!! Those Reserve collections are super rare! As a side note, All the awesome '98 Donruss inserts were made by Pinnacle, who owned the card company at the time! It was also Pinnacle who made the Crusades inserts under the Donruss name! Man, Pinnacle was so incredible and unique!!

I do not have the 97 Score reserve collection Griffey! They made a TON of variants with that set including the special reserve stock, showcase series, artist’s proofs (white border and shimmery variants) platinum team, the super tough premier club, etc. I would show more Griffeys, but this is actually most of what I have! I have maybe 3-4 binder pages of high-pop wax era cards and some base cards from the mid-late 90s, and then just a few more top-loader caliber inserts like the 93 SP Platinum Power, 95 Emotion N-tense, 97 Stadium Club Matrix parallel, 99 Topps Power Players insert, and a few others. These last few I have displayed on my desk at the school where I teach! I love looking at them because they always brighten up my day! I also wouldn’t want to risk taking some of my heavier hitters like the 95 refractors! In my opinion, Pinnacle was the most innovative card company in the 90s. Period. They were also my favorite card company. I adore the Crusades set - I have a Greg Maddux green and a Sean Casey Purple both in PSA 9s. Pinnacle was no stranger to the concept of “stealth inserts” like those! They did similar things in other sets. Like the Epix cards, the crusades were packed across different products all that year. And like the 95 Pinnacle white hots, there were no pack odds on the wrapper for pulling any Crusade card. You could pull one and just have zero clue what you were holding in your hand! 😂 Although, I think the serial numbering would probably give away that you were holding something amazing! Thanks for the great comment, John! I’m glad you stumbled across my channel!

Awesome cards, Brian! You may have inspired me to show all my Griffey's. I have shown some of them before but never all of them. I don't have all the amazing inserts and parallels that you have though! Love this video!

You should totally showcase your Griffeys! He was THE GUY in the 90s! The 89 Upper Deck Griffey is the “52 Topps Mantle” of my era. Thanks for watching and commenting, Billy!
