There is nothing more to know than that there was a group of dangerous individuals who broke into a fenced of property threatening those who lived there. It's worse than that, allegedly Karen's gun wasn't even functional, it was dud, according to the couple who are both lawyers the gun was made unusable so they could take into court for another unrelated case. When the gun came back to from the lab it was in perfect working conditions, which constitutes tampering with evidence. Plus the fact the cops and DA (or AG I ain't sure) had no basis in charging since according to the law of that state, even on the ATTEMPT of breaking into the private property the owner could shoot the invader down.
